WHY KOMPAS? Dear Cruise Enthusiast: We are delighted that you’ve chosen Kompas as your travel companion. And we are grateful and excited to embark on this amazing journey with you. The year was 1951, and the motive was to create wholesome travel experiences in erstwhile Yugoslavia. That task fell on the ‘Putnik Transport Agency’ which, in 1959, was renamed as ‘Kompas’. By the 1980’s, and to the delight of its innumerable guests, Kompas’ 4000 employees steered hundreds of motor-coaches, cars, ships and yachts and they managed several ski centers, hotels and restaurants. After Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, Kompas expanded internationally and became the largest travel company in the region. It’s head-office is in Europe’s greenest capital Ljubljana. The company has sales and operations offices in 19 cities, most of them in Eastern and Central Europe. Kompas associates, tour directors, drivers and guides are passionate about their Croatia and cruising the Adriatic Sea. They want nothing more than for you to discover and love their islands, coastline and culture the way they do. Their unique insights, combined with your own travel aspirations, led Kompas to create this wondrous collection of Adriatic Cruises. All cruise only itineraries depart on Sundays (Saturday transatlantic flights from the USA) and are leisurely paced to finish on the next Sunday. For longer journeys, you might consider a cruise and land vacation. Or, you can extend your cruise vacation by adding on a Kompas tour which will afford you a discount of 10%. Kompas operates a fleet of Deluxe and Superior cruise ships, some brand new and featuring private balconies. All ships offer the highest level of comfort all around. Throughout the ships, there is air conditioning and all cabins have an LCD TV, a safe deposit box, bathroom toiletries, a hair dryer, bathrobes and slippers and free WIFI. Safety is prime and all ships have the most modern fire alarm systems, emergency lights, generators, life boats, tender boats PA systems, sound and fire proofing, communication and navigation systems. There is ample room on the sundecks where loungers are aplenty. From the rear deck, there is easy access to the sea for swimming. Food safety and hygiene in our kitchens, restaurants and throughout the ships is assured by following stringent HACCP standards. The electricity current on board is 220 volts and the electrical outlets are of the Continental European round pronged variety. Also, all of Kompas’ Adriatic Cruises are guaranteed to depart, even if there are only a small number of guests booked. In addition, Kompas offers a substantial discount for early bookers, and flexibility for when plans change. Thank you for letting us guide your travels.
