Testament to its strong commitment and continuous improvement in environmental performance, Keppel Land garnered the Quality Champion (Gold) Award by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) in 2016 and 2017. In 2016, Keppel Land also extended the scope of its Integrated Management System (IMS) to cover its operations in Vietnam. This follows the implementation of the IMS for its Singapore and China operations in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The IMS combines the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards on quality, environmental management as well as occupational health and safety management respectively into a single framework. 14 Sustaining Growth ISSUE 2 | 2017 Bolstering emergency preparedness Armed attackers stormed into the lobby of Bugis Junction Towers on 11 June 2017 and forced their way into tenanted premises. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) was alerted to the situation and reacted swiftly to handle the attackers while officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived to render assistance to casualties. This was the scenario of a joint counter-terrorism exercise organised by Keppel Land and Keppel REIT together with the SPF and the SCDF. About 60 participants were involved in the exercise including employees from Keppel Land and Keppel REIT, officers from the SPF and SCDF as well as staff from International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, a key tenant at Bugis Junction Towers. Similar country-level staff conferences were also held in Shanghai, China, and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam, respectively on 2 to 5 May 2017 and 10 to 12 May 2017.
