Accredited Service Providers Register (Option 2) – Distribution Electricity
1 PURPOSE
This register is provided on the basis that the customer has exercised their option (Option 2) in accordance
with the electricity Distribution Code to seek alternative prices for the augmentation work associated with
providing an electricity supply to their property.
AusNet Services does not provide any warranty in regard to the service providers included in this register.
The service providers have met minimum electricity industry skill requirements to undertake the work.
Inclusion on this register does not imply competency or capability beyond the minimum skill requirement. Nor
does inclusion in the register imply any comment on the business skills and practices or quality of the service
providers listed.
A customer using this register to seek quotes and subsequently engaging a service provider will need to
ensure that the service provider is “accredited” for the particular type of work required. The customer will be
directly entering into the contract to provide the services required with the service provider. AusNet Services
will not engage the service provider on behalf of the customer.
1.1 ENQUIRIES
All enquiries about this register are to be forwarded to SupplierAccreditation@ausnetservices.com.au
1.2 ACCREDITATION RENEWAL
It is the responsibility of the accredited organisation to ensure that the accreditation is current. Where
accreditations expire the organisation will be removed from the register.
Requests for renewal should be forwarded to SupplierAccreditation@ausnetservices.com.au and should be
made at least 6 weeks before the expiry date allowing time for evaluation of submission.
2 ABBREVIATIONS AND DEFINITIONS
Term Definition
Accredited Service An entity who DOES NOT have a contract for services with AusNet Services. The
Provider entity is accredited by AusNet Services and may be an individual, partnership,
corporation, or other legal entity capable of providing services for customer
initiated/managed works for electricity supply. The entity accreditation capability is
listed in this register and may be for:
Design / Engineering and Consultancy services
Installation
Construction
Maintenance and general services
Project management.
Accreditation Accredited Service Providers have their performance rated at accreditation as follows:

Rating Description
1 Fully Competent - Has demonstrated capability to deliver works scope.
2 Proficient - Limited in competency - Has stated capability to deliver
works scope but not yet demonstrated or infrequent user.
3 Capable - Yet to demonstrate competency - Recently accredited and
has stated capability but has yet to demonstrate competency.

2.1 WORK TYPE DEFINITIONS
Note the following table describes the work types for Accredited Service Providers for Electricity Distribution
only, for the full list of work types refer to QMS 21-01.

HV/LV Overhead Line Construction, Open Wire and Pole Mounted Substation
HV/LV OH
Construction. Includes all aspects of bare overhead construction works and LV servicing.
HV LV ABC, Spacer cable Overhead Line Construction). Includes all aspects of the
ABC/SC
overhead ABC/SC construction works.
HV LW HV Live work (22kV stick & or GB, 66kV stick, 220-500kV stick, Barehand)
G/T SS Complex Substation Construction Ground type
K&P SS Kiosk and Padmount Substation Installation, including earthing.
I/D SS Complex Substation Construction Indoor
UGS LV U/G Service Installation up to 4x50mm pole to pit
OHS LV OH Service Installation up to 4x35mm, Service pole installation
FO Fibre optic splicing and testing (OPGW and ADSS)
FOD Fibre Optic Design, Installation and Testing (ADSS)
PL Public Lighting – Bulk Light replacement only
Provision of installation of underground pits, cables and conduits, foundations, concrete
UGC slab, roadworks, substation earthing. No cable jointing capability (must be VEDN
accredited for electrical networks).
Communication: Ground based - Installation or maintenance of ground based only third
COMM-GB
party mobile communication devices at AusNet Services Infrastructure.
Communication: Tower access - Installation or maintenance of ground or tower based

Electrical Design Basic (distribution network) - LV URD, 4 pole 22kV
EDC extension >4 pole HV asset alteration, Kiosk/ground/padmount substation including
HV/LV URD, Pole substations > 315kVA, HV underground including asset
relocations. HV ABC, Fibre optic design.
Public Lighting Design – to AusNet Services accepted design standard including
clearances and electrical layout that satisfies relevant Australian Standard, includes
PLD
drafting. Key staff to have obtained Vic Roads Luminary design accreditation (for
Vic Roads Works).
Public Lighting Design – Luminary Only
PLD-L Limited public lighting design to calculation and determination of lighting levels only.
Vic Road luminary design accreditation required for Vic Roads works.

Survey –Total Station data capture with a Design Software of a minimum of poles
SV format (Npoles preferred) that meets AusNet Services design standards. All data
including field notes must be stored and available upon request.
Drafting submitted in an AutoCAD format that complies with AusNet Services

drafting standards including correct use of Objective drawing management system.
Electrical Detailing – Underground cables and conduits including field pick up and

asset tracing to AusNet Services detailing standards
PS Professional Services – can include auditors, consultants, IT specialists.
Project Management Basic – Person acting on behalf of a client to manage and

Project Management Complex – Person acting on behalf of a client to manage and
