About Time South Australia’s History Festival Welcome to About Time: South Australia’s History Festival, one of South Australia’s largest community events. Beginning as SA History Week in 2004, 2014 is the beginning of our second decade, and we’ve got a wonderful program packed full of exciting activities to showcase our history. A big thank you to all the event organisers who have been with us from the beginning, and to all the people who have been converted along the way – About Time only exists because of you and we acknowledge the wonderful work you do preserving our state’s collections, places and stories. We think there is something for everyone in About Time this year, and we hope you’ll make the most of the experiences on offer. Changing Skylines This year’s About Time design features original black and white photographs merged with contemporary shots. They provide dramatic snapshots of how South Australia has changed over the years. The original images are from the South Australian Government Photographic Collection which documents over seven decades of government activities, state celebrations, and the growth of industry, trade and townships between 1890 and 1957.
