Dear residents, We are pleased to present this edition of Leisure Pointe-Claire, where you will find this fall’s complete list of events, as well as cultural, sports, and community activities for all ages. The City’s latest project is the launch of our very first Youth Advisory Board, a way for young residents of Pointe-Claire aged 14 to 21 who are involved in the community to contribute to municipal affairs. Its mandate will be to make recommendations to City Council to improve activities, services, john belvedere mayor and public facilities in order to better meet the needs of young residents and encourage them to participate. This Youth Advisory Board is part of the City’s vision for improving quality of life by promoting accessibility, active participation, and the involvement of all residents, and will allow young residents to develop civic awareness while helping to create a city adapted to all. All young residents of Pointe-Claire are encouraged to submit their application, starting now and until September 17, to be part of the first Youth Advisory Board in Pointe-Claire! winter session Winter training offers young athletes the opportunity to enhance their skills and pursue their goals with the support of high-level coaches. This environment often encourages athletes to compete at the provincial, national, and international levels. The Canoe Club’s Racing Team Fall-Winter Program is open to all young people age 10 and up. As a Master, you will have the opportunity to compete in regattas, the Provincial Sprint and Long Distance Championships, and CanMas. For the winter season, a training session will be offered to all adults who are looking to stay in shape in preparation for the next paddling season. The program includes weight training, cardiovascular training, and games. Training takes place at the Canoe Club, the Lakeside-Ovide Gym (Ovide Avenue), and the Aquatic Centre. Open to all. No prior experience in canoeing, kayaking, or dragon boating is required.
