3/22/2021 Mail - Charmaine Kong - Outlook A Walk Through of our new Community Kitchen! This week, Revs. Jeff, Deana and June recorded a walk-through video of the recently renovated spaces at MCC Toronto, including our new community kitchen. https://outlook.office.com/mail/deeplink?popoutv2=1&version=20210315003.14 1/7
3/22/2021 Mail - Charmaine Kong - Outlook We’re pretty excited about our new spaces – and we hope you are too! These renovations have been 100% funded through a Major Gift Campaign, with no impact on MCC Toronto’s annual operating budget. We look forward to the time we can all be together to break bread and to be part of a community meal again! Join Us! Each Sunday through Lent and including Easter Sunday (April 4), we will be celebrating with our Leonard Cohen Sermon and Music Series. Special Offertory Performers through Lent: March 21: Tristan Avakian March 28: Shannon Linton April 2: Kelly Holiff April 4 (Easter Sunday): Jennie Such Sunday Service Musical Guest https://outlook.office.com/mail/deeplink?popoutv2=1&version=20210315003.14 2/7
3/22/2021 Mail - Charmaine Kong - Outlook Tristan Avakian is our Offertory Performer this Sunday! Perhaps best known as the lead guitarist for a string of musical theatre spectacles (We Will Rock You, Rock of Ages, Kinky Boots, Book of Mormon, The Bodyguard, Bat Out of Hell, and most recently Come from Away), Tristan is also a singer/songwriter and recording artist. When he’s not doing that, he tours with Marc Martel and Ultimate Queen Celebration, starring Marc Martel. Tristan, Marc and musical director Brandon Ethridge were hand-picked by Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor to play in their official Queen tribute, and Marc went on to voice Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, the top-grossing film of 2019. They play theatres and arenas worldwide. In place of our usual Sunday Night Check-In on March 21, we will instead be having a COVID-19 Vigil with a brief ritual and a chance to light candles in our homes to remember those who’ve died during this pandemic.
