AWARDS Birdies and Eagles Record first time birdies and eagles made in RWGC- sponsored events on the appropriate list in the Ladies’ Locker Room. LADIES’ DAY PROCEDURE • Members must report to the pro shop 30 minutes before tee time. • Shot-gun start times vary by month according to the calendar in your roster book. • Please be sure to inform the pro shop of any changes in your foursome. • If you are not signed up for a game, check with the pro shop for any cancellations or openings. • Notify both the pro shop and a member of your foursome if you are unable to keep your starting time. • Five-somes will not be permitted. • Improving your lie (bumping the ball) is not allowed. If course conditions warrant, an exception for the current round will be made by the Tournament Chair on the advice of the pro shop. Notification will be by an announcement over the intercom prior to play and will be noted on your scorecard. • If you do not have a full team for team events, keep a scorecard with appropriate “pops”, and the Tournament Committee will supply a blind draw. NOTE: There is no provision for a blind draw in Chapman, Scrambles, and Shambles. SIGN-UP PROCEDURE • Respond to email invitation as “Playing”. • Signing up your group: Select “Send a message to the manager”. Under “Message”, enter the name(s) of those in your group. Only one person per group will respond to the email invitation. Indicate any walkers with a “W” in the message. Select “Send”. • Signing up as a single: Select “Send”. If you are walking, indicate “W” in the message, then select “Send”. • You will receive an email confirming your sign-up. The confirmation will be sent only to the individual who signed up the group. PAIRINGS (Tee sheet) and RESULTS • Go to www.golfgenius.com and sign in. Your GGID is RW2021. • Pairings will be available Wednesday morning prior to play on Thursday. • Results will be available Thursday evening after play.
RENO WOMEN’S GOLF CLUB STANDING RULES (Revised 2019) USGA Rules will govern all play except as modified by local rules or such temporary rules as determined by the Rules Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Must be at least 18 years of age. WEEKLY TOURNAMENT PLAY Eligibility • Must have USGA handicap. To obtain this handicap, USGA requires a minimum of three 18-hole scores to be posted within the past 24 months. • All players will play with their full handicap. Awards • Prizes will be awarded to 1/3, or a fraction thereof, of each flight. • There will be a minimum of one gross and one net prize per flight. Scorecards • Each player will have her own scorecard unless it is a team event. • Each player will have her score kept by another player in her foursome. • In the case that a player does not complete a hole, she shall record, for posting purposes, the score she most likely would have had that does not exceed her ADJ limit. An “X” must precede that score on her card. • Check your hole-by-hole score with your marker to ensure you are signing an accurate score. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. • Scorecards must be signed by the player and attested by the marker. • Signed and attested scorecards should be turned into the tournament committee immediately after the round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. Any player leaving the premises without turning in her completed scorecard may be disqualified.
• Incomplete or incorrect cards may be disqualified. Breaking Ties • The tournament committee will break ties according to USGA recommended method in the USGA Handicap System and Golf Committee manual. • Flight breakdown • Flight distribution and the number of flights will be determined each week according to the handicaps of participating competitors. The maximum number of flights will be six, but may be fewer depending on the number of competitors. Pace of Play • Each group should keep up with the group in front of them. Allow faster groups to play through. Players are encouraged to play “ready golf” whenever possible. • Players must putt out in individual stroke play. • Dress Code • Please respect the game, the course, and your fellow players by wearing appropriate golf attire. No cut-offs or short-shorts, no tank tops, tube tops, halters or sports bras without a shirt worn over them. Posting Scores • The Handicap Committee will post all weekly tournament scores. • All other adjusted gross scores obtained through play at any course during the GHIN posting season must be posted on the computer at the course or on GHIN.com • If a player plays thirteen or more holes for an 18-hole score or seven or more holes for a 9-hole score, for handicap purposes, her score on holes not played shall be PAR plus any handicap strokes she is entitled to receive on the hole. • If a player starts but does not complete a hole, she shall record, for handicap purposes, the score she most likely would have made if the hole had been completed, but such score shall not exceed the limit in the Adjusted Limit (ADJ) .
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP • The tournament committee shall set dates, starting times, and deadline for entries in the tournament. • The tournament will be 36 holes of flighted stroke play. • Flight breakdown will be the same as weekly tournaments. • USGA and local rules shall apply as set forth by the Rules Committee. • The player recording the lowest gross score will be Club Champion. The player recording the lowest net score will be Net Champion. Eligibility • Player must have played a minimum of 5 rounds on RWGC play days during the current season. • Player must be a member in good standing (dues paid 60 days prior to the first day of the tournament). • Player must have an established USGA handicap; past record of 20 18-hole scores played in the last 24 months. • Players will play with full handicap. Pairings • First Day: Players will be paired according to handicap index within flights: 1, 3, 5, 7; 2, 4, 6, 8; etc. • Second Day: Players will be paired according to gross score within flights: 1, 2, 3, 4; 5, 6, 7, 8: etc. Awards • Awards per flight • Prizes will be awarded to (1/3), or a fraction thereof, of each flight. • Gross and net position shall be paid equally. • A player is entitled to only one prize.Champion Awards • The Club Champion and Net Champion will receive equal prizes. Ties • Club Champion (gross and net) will be determined by a sudden-death play-off, starting from a designated hole. • All other ties will be determined by using the USGA recommended method per the USGA Handicap System and Golf Committee Manual. • Scorecards will be kept as in weekly tournament play.
USGA & LOCAL RULES • Preferred Lies: May be played at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. During this time the player may improve the lie of her ball within a scorecard length and in like conditions through the general area • Lost Ball: Rule 18.1. The player is encouraged to play a provisional ball if she thinks her ball may be lost outside of a water hazard. • Embedded Ball: Rule 16 • Putting Green: Rule 13. The player may touch the line of play. What the player is allowed to repair on the green: See Rule 13.1c(2) • Penalty areas (water hazards/lateral water hazards): Rule 17. • Out of bounds: Rule 18. Defined by all perimeter fencing on the course and white stakes and/or lines on holes 1, 9, 10, 14, and 18. • Doubt as to procedure: Rule 20.1c(3). A player unsure of her rights or procedure may play out the hole with 2 balls. The player must declare her intention to invoke this Rule and which ball will be counted (at the time of invoking the Rule) if the Rules permit. She must report facts to the Tournament Committee before signing and returning her scorecard. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. The RWGC Tournament Committee will make the final decision. • Yardage markers on the course are deemed to be moveable ONLY if the marker impedes your swing or stance, NOT line of sight. • Obstructions: Rule 15 and 16. Relief is available under these Rules for all concrete walls, staked or tagged trees, all roads and cart paths on the Course, and the protective fence behind #10 green. • Abnormal ground conditions: Rule 16. Ground under repair is defined by white lines or stakes. It includes equipment and cart ruts, newly seeded or aerated areas in the cut of the fairway of the hole being played, even if not so marked. .
• Stones in bunkers: Rule 15.1 (Loose impediments). Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions. If a stone or pebble impedes your swing or follow-through in the bunker, you may remove it without penalty. • Cell phones: As a courtesy to others, please refrain from using your cell phone on the golf course. NET DOUBLE BOGEY For posting purposes, the maximum score a player can take on any hole is Net Double Bogey. Net Double Bogey is defined as double bogey plus any strokes (pops) a player gets on the hole. Example: Washoe #1 (par 4) • Player A gets two strokes or pops. Double bogey on a par 4 is 6. Add her 2 strokes, so the maximum score she can take is 8. • Player B gets 1 stroke. The maximum score Player B can take is double bogey plus 1. She can take a 7. NORTHERN NEVADA POSTING DATES Posting begins March 15th and end November 30th .
END OF YEAR AWARDS Eclectic • Eclectic flights will be determined based on the player’s USGA Handicap Index on the first day of play and number of players who sign up for the eclectic competition. • Players must participate in the tournament of the day for eligibility. Most Improved Golfers • Must have USGA handicap. • Must have a past record of 20 18-hole scores played within the last 24 months. • Must have recorded eight 18-hole rounds on RWGC play days at Washoe County Golf Course during the current season. • Awards will be divided into three handicap divisions based on your handicap at the start of the season as follows: i) Handicap Division I: 0 – 23 ii) Handicap Division II: 24 – 32 iii) Handicap Division III: 33 – 40+ Hole-In-One Any club member making a hole-in-one at Washoe County Golf Course or any accredited golf course other than Washoe County Golf Course will receive an award commemorating the event First time Birdies/Eagles Members making a birdie or an eagle FOR THE FIRST TIME must post the event on the bulletin board in the ladies’ locker room to receive an End of Year Award. Break Awards Members breaking a gross score of 100, 90, or 80 FOR THE FIRST TIME will receive an End of Year award. Score must have been recorded at Washoe County Golf Course on Ladies’ Day. .
HIGH SIERRA TEAM PLAY INFORMATION • Sign-up sheets will be posted every month to qualify for Team Play. Maximum handicap for Team Play is 36. • Handicaps over 36 will be reduced to 36. • Qualifying days vary. Check the calendar in the roster book. • Team members are determined by the three lowest gross and three lowest net scores recorded on qualifying days. All players must qualify and compete to a maximum of 36 handicap. • Teams of six members will compete with other teams of six members at six different golf courses for six months. See schedule below. • FORMAT: Team match play. Each club will have six players forming three 2-player teams. Each 2-player team will play better ball against another club’s 2-player team. Eighteen holes will be completed, equaling a total of 18 points. • The club with the most points accumulated over the six tournaments wins. • If you belong to more than one club, you may represent only one club in team play for the season. SPECIAL INFORMATION President’s Cup – July 29th This is an annual event that recognizes the current and past presidents of our club. It is usually a 4-gal game; lunch included. Club Championship – August 5th and August 12th This competition is flighted, allowing competitors to play with others of similar ability. Both days are posted as tournament scores. Lunch will be provided for players who compete in the Club Championship Birdies for Washoe Proceeds benefit the Washoe Junior Golf Program. Voluntary one-time $10 buy-in. Five tournament days are played in conjunction with regular RWGC play days. Claudia O’Mera will keep track of participants’ birdies, eagles, net birdies, and net eagles for the five tournament days. At the conclusion of the tournament, each participant will be asked to donate $1 for each birdie, eagle, net birdie and net eagle scored on the tournament days. Dates: 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27, 6/10. PACE OF PLAY • No one likes to play with or follow a slow player. Be ready and prepared when it’s your turn to hit. • Please help your group be aware if your group falls behind. • Keep up with the group in front of you. If you are unable to keep up, please allow the group behind you to play through. • Keep any pre-shot practice short. • Finish conversations after your shot. • Use the carts efficiently so as not to waste time to get to each player’s shot. • Continuous putting is encouraged. Two players may leave the green if play is completed and get ready to tee off at the next hole.
