2023 Preconference Submission Guide
All organizers/speakers/presenters must register for the convention at their own expense in order to participate in the
preconferece. Registration opens October 12 (no space is held for organizers/speakers/presenters so please be sure to
register early).

                                             Convention Experience
The SPSP Annual Convention preconference formats are in-person and virtual. Please note which preconference you are
applying for and the type of format it is. In-Person preconferences for the 2023 Convention will be hosted on February
23, 2023. Virtual preconferences for the 2023 Convention will be hosted on February 22, 2023. There will be no
hybrid preconferences.

                                             Presentation Types

There are three presentation types available for you to participate in as a preconference submission (Poster, Data
Blitz/Flash Talk, Single Presenter Talk). Not all preconferences are accepting all forms of presentations. Check what
presentation formats are being included in your preconference on the list below:

                                   Information Needed for Submissions
You may submit to multiple preconferences. You must submit a form for each one. You can only register/attend one
preconference per day.

This guide outlines all the necessary information for submitting a Preconference Submission. Your submission must be
entered through the portal here. We recommend collecting the below information in order to have all information ready
to submit. Preconference submissions will be accepted from September 1st until November 15th 11:59 PM PT.

Happiness and well-being
Happiness and well-being are shaped by the broader context and major events. In the Preconference, we plan to have 2
data blitz sessions: 1 on 'Happiness and Well-being in the Context of Current Events' and 1 on 'General Happiness and
Well-Being Topics'. Research related to current events (including but not limited to COVID-19, racial justice movement,
and Afghanistan crisis) should be submitted to the former, whereas research on topics not immediately related to
current events should be submitted to the latter. Please select the data blitz session that you would like to submit to:

Health
Do you want to be considered for the Outstanding Trainee Flash Talk Award? If so, please upload a copy of your current
CV/resume in the submission portal. Note: Only trainees (i.e., post-docs, graduate students, undergraduate students,

       low income background, and first- generation-student status. Please mark 'yes' if you meet the requirements
