PLAYER & PARENT INFORMATION
PLAYER EXPECTATIONS & PARENT INFORMATION Please review Eagle Football Expectations and Policies document on website Parent Info page for information on: • Player Expectations and Code of Conduct • Attendance Policy • Playing Time • Protocol For Communication With Coaches • Role of Parents In Our Program
IN-SEASON ATTENDANCE As a coaching staff we need to reinforce the importance of players attendance at all practices and meetings. A player’s high school football career is a short time in his life but he will remember it forever. While unforeseen circumstances can and do occur, the following is the coaching staff’s policy regarding attendance. We will reserve the right to make decisions based on this policy.
IN-SEASON ATTENDANCE • Players are expected to attend all practices and meetings. • Because football requires a coordinated effort from many and because preparation time is limited, being absent from practice affects the entire team. In short your teammates are depending on you. • Players and parents will be provided with a detailed season calendar and scheduling considerations will be made for holidays and ACT testing dates. Please coordinate work hours and schedule travel plans accordingly. • If you are unable to practice for any reason YOU are responsible for reporting to a coach BEFORE practice. This would be considered an excused absence. Failure to report an absence in this way will be considered an unexcused absence. • Excused absences will require time to be made up as extra conditioning and/or meetings with coaches. Unexcused absences WILL result in extra conditioning and may also result in additional penalties including playing time.
WHY WE PLAY PURPOSE STATEMENT As a coach my purpose is to provide a positive and meaningful experience that develops valuable life skills through participation in football. I will strive to develop positive character traits in young athletes by modeling and teaching skills such as dedication, leadership, and teamwork that will provide our players with a foundation for their future. My commitment to coaching to this purpose will be evident not only in accomplishments on the field, but in achievement in the classroom, and in service to others in our community.
COACHING TO OUR PURPOSE • 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 SECTION CHAMPIONS AND STATE QUALIFIER • 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 ACADEMIC ALL-STATE TEAM • MORE THAN $30,000 IN PLEDGES RAISED FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS MINNESOTA OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS • ANNUAL PARTICIPATION IN TACKLE CANCER FOUNDATION EVENTS • OUR PLAYERS AND COACHES GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY IN A VARIETY OF WAYS
