Swim Familiarization Friday, 14 May from 13:00 till 16:00 - Groups E, F 13:00 till 14:00 - Groups A, B 14:00 till 15:00 - Groups C, D 15:00 till 16:00 Athletes must follow this process: - Enter Athlete Lounge for ID and temperature check - PCR test (including all Team Staff) - Changing tent near pontoon - Swim familiarization IMPORTANT : No swimming in harbour other than at the above mentioned times. 10

Check-in Procedures Check-in – Athletes Lounge ● Keep your mask on ● Disinfect your hands before entering the tent ● One way flow within the tent ● All checks will be visual ● Uniform & race gear check – photos taken of each uniform ● Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ! ● Body marking check (both arms, both legs) ● Timing chip distribution (1 for the ankle) ● Swim cap distribution + Checking of 2nd unbranded swim caps (otherwise not allowed to wear) ● Leave your bag in the Athletes’ Lounge 16
Check-in Procedures • Refer to 5.12. in Competition Rules • Handlebars with clips-ons • Wheels (UCI list) • Bike frame • Saddle position (-5 cm ≤ Men & -2 cm ≤ Women) • Approval for the addition/modification of any equipment to the bike, MUST be obtained from the Head Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Race Package Distribution • A Bike Mechanic will be available during check in at the athletes’ lounge 17
Check-in Procedures Transition Area • Helmet – Do not leave helmet straps fastened in transition • Helmet on bike • The bike must be racked in the first transition by the rear wheel and in the second transition by either wheel • Running shoes go outside and in front of your box • Leave the spare wheels with your label at the athletes’ lounge. 18

Pre-start Procedures Athlete Introduction: • 10 minutes before start – line-up in Pre-Start Area • If wearing 2 swim caps the 2nd one must be unbranded • Keep your mask on and remove it after being introduced • As introduced jog to the swim start line and select your position. Remain there and stay behind the line! • Last minute gear will be moved to the TA by the LOC 20

Start Procedures Athletes in position: • The start can be given any time the Head Referee announces “On Your Mark” • Air Horn Blast • The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1 22
False Start Procedures False start with many athletes: • Several horn blasts • Kayaks in front of you • Everyone goes back to his or her original start spot Valid start but with early starters: • If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1 During the time penalty the athlete cannot touch any race equipment 23

Run Course • 4 laps of 2.5km (total distance of 10km) • Lapped runners – cannot run with leading runners • Aid Stations and Littering Zones • 3 per lap (for location see map) • Sealed water • Discard bottles and litter in the Littering Zones as indicated by the following signs 34

Run Penalty Box • Penalty box is for infringements in : Swim, TA1, Bike, TA2 and Run e.g. swim conduct, mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, equipment outside your box, rack the bike outside your own space, littering outside the littering zone, etc. • Location: Before entering the finish chute • Information: White board to show race numbers (and letter) (Athletes need to read the board) • Procedure: 15 second time penalty served on any lap of the run Penalties must be posted prior to the 3rd lap on the run. Any penalties following that point will be served on the spot. Athletes have the option to decide whether to stop at the penalty box and serve the penalty or continue to the finish. Not stopping will results in DSQ on crossing the finish line. The athlete may then appeal the penalty. Evidence will only be made available if an appeal is filed. 36
Run Penalty Box If you incur a penalty, you will find your number plus a letter code indicating the nature of the infraction: D = Dismount Line Violation S = Swim Conduct M = Mount Line violation E = Equipment Outside Box L = Littering V = Other Violations For example: 12D….athlete #12 received a time penalty for a dismount line violation 12 x 2 ME…athlete #12 received 2 time penalties for mount line and equipment outside the box violations 37
Post Race Procedures • Photo-finish • No congestion in the finish area: go to PCR test/recovery area • For Top 3 and Series Leaders • TV/Flash Interviews • Medal Ceremony • For awards, dress “up” – with race uniform (or country clothes) Ambush marketing rules apply • Prize money will be wire transferred to the athletes 38
Medal Ceremony • Everyone keep his/her mask on the whole time. No photo without mask. • No flowers. • No beer celebration. But a glass of beer will be on the podium (gold medalist only). • 1 hostess/volunteer with face shield/mask and gloves to prepare and hold the tray with the medal and trophy to each athlete • Each athlete is taking on his/her own the medal/trophy/sash. • National anthem and flags raising as per usual. • No handshaking/ hugs 39
Ambush Marketing Rules • Ambush marketing is defined as: “Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to expose the sponsor logos larger than the approved sizes, and/or equipment or objects not provided by LOC or World Triathlon.” • The consequence for this behaviour is that the athlete will immediately forfeit their prize money for that event, if any • Please follow the ambush marketing rule 40
Post Race Procedures Anti-Doping Control • Photo ID is needed for every athlete to go for testing. The tests will be carried out at Hotel New Grand. Team Medical Access • Only team medical will be allowed to enter the medical tent after World Triathlon Medical Delegate’s permission. • Every NF can have 1 team medical accreditation. Team doctors should register with the World Triathlon Medical Delegate. 41

Coaches Run Access • One coach per NF is allowed to have access on the site run course for 30 minutes from 12:15 between the elite events, in a time when course is properly setup and secured. • Vests are provided to those coaches from the LOC. • All coaches will start at the same time from the same start point (meeting point) at Transition. • Coaches who require this access, must register with the technical officials during registration on Thursday, 13 May. 44

Anti-doping World Triathlon has identified various levels of its Education Pool as its Registered Testing Pool (RTP) athletes, Testing Pool (TP) athletes, accredited coaches for its World Cup and World Triathlon Championships Series events as well as athletes qualified to go to 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The below need to complete their respective course by 30th of June 2021: •RTP athletes must complete WADA’s ADEL for Registered Testing Pool Athletes course •TP athletes must complete the WADA “International-Level Athletes Education Program” course •Athletes attending the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games must complete WADA’s ADEL for Tokyo 2020 Olympics course •High Performance Coaches and National accredited Elite Coaches who would like to be accredited for the World Triathlon Events must complete WADA’s High Performance Coaches course Certificate of completion needs to be submitted to World Triathlon at antidoping@triathlon.org 51
