desire to make a difference in the sports medicine industry:

4. Describe how you will represent the interests of the broader sports medicine industry as a director:
(iv) A desire to make a difference in the sports medicine industry: This item is carried over from section 3 because it
relates to section 4. My interest in the broader sports medicine industry and motivation to make a difference in it is
based on my dedication to all things exercise and my desire to promote it as a conduit to better health, happiness and
national prosperity. That exercise is a positive therapy for virtually all conditions and pathologies is based on an
abundance of scientific evidence. This fact is nevertheless largely ignored by government, rather than being harnessed
in the way that pharmacological treatments are. As the economic savings from applying exercise as medicine have
been well demonstrated, such governmental short sightedness is regrettable and detrimental to the public purse. The
additional benefits of sport as a source of pleasure and mental health in society reinforces the notion that exercise and
sport should be taken more seriously as vital strategies to optimise public health. It is this message that I wish to
     represent and promote.

current health advice and practice into the community. I firmly believe the safer sports
programs and the advocacy SMA has can substantially improve the health and management of our
community athletes. Improvising participation, inclusion and diversity, risk reduction and quality of care
during injury. I believe I have a lot to add to what SMA offers to members and the educational services we

of performing artists at an elite level. I've worked as a side-of-field physiotherapist at the Commonwealth Games, Invictus
Games, Football, Soccer, Tennis, Netball, Hockey, Rugby, Wheelchair Sports, Powerlifting, Shooting, Running. As a senior
physiotherapist in the Emergency Department, I see a wide variety of acute sporting injuries and a lot of concussion in
various age groups. Seeing the impact of sporting injuries, I know the importance of quality and reach of education about
optimal immediate care. Advocating for Sports Trainers in the community would be a large responsibility of my tenure as a
director.

                                                        3
