Culture of innovation Toggled is the leading patent holder in LED lighting. It formed in 2007 by leveraging the design and engineering strength of parent company Altair. While working on a transportation project, the Altair team noted that road vibration caused fluorescent lights inside buses to fail more rapidly. Longer lasting LED lamps would deliver substantial cost savings over fluorescent tubes, but upgrading the actual fixtures in every bus would be expensive. When the team developed a LED direct replacement lamp that would work in the buses' fluorescent fixtures, Toggled was born.
