Words from the Editor
This month, I want to send a shout out to those of you who help make our newsletter
better. I’m talking about the few people who contribute by sending pictures and
information for the Newsletter Editor. I’ve had a Newsletter Drop-box at the front
door for months. I’ve not received one thing in that drop-box. No recommendations, no pictures, not even a
single joke or recipe for the newsletter. This is OUR newsletter. It is NOT MY newsletter! If you don’t
see me at an event, take pictures for me and send them to be included in the newsletter and website. This
newsletter is only successful if we as a family work together to make it successful.
Over the next three months, we have the opportunity to create two great newsletters to enter into the
National Eagles Bulletin Contest. Without member participation, we really will not have content good
enough to enter. Last year, our newsletter took 3rd place. It’s great - but it’s not 1st place. Let’s think about
themes for those newsletters and submit content that matches those themes so we can kick things up a
notch. Remember, 1st place isn’t possible without your cooperation! Let’s all work together to win!

Notes from Marie Lopez, Auxiliary Madam President
We are going to have a fabulous year! We have new members serving as Officers this year and
that will provide an opportunity to bring forth some new ideas to improve our Auxiliary! So, be
sure to keep informed on what is happening and ATTEND THOSE MEETINGS!
As the Madam President, I am sponsoring a Meeting Attendance Raffle each month. At the end
of the last regular Auxiliary meeting of each month, a raffle ticket will be drawn for a special prize.
THERE IS NO PURCHASE NECESSARY - SIMPLY ATTEND A MEETING AND GET A FREE
RAFFLE TICKET! Attend two meetings - get two tickets! Prizes range from beauty products, to
housewares and sometimes a few special bottles. Even the packaging is a gift in itself! This
month is my birthday; so, I have a special prize planned Think rum drinks on the beach. So, join
us in our meetings, stay informed of our new plans and get the chance to win fun prizes.

Remember, Family Fun Day is tentatively scheduled for September 18, 2021. Our Family Fun
Days are awesome - you don’t want to miss it!
Notes from Jean Morgan, Auxiliary Secretary
Just a friendly reminder to our Auxiliary members to offer to help those ladies working in the
kitchen. If you stop by for a meal or a drink on a meal night, please take 5 or 10 minutes to help
the ladies serve meals or clean up afterward. Most of the time meals are already prepared by the
time everyone arrives. It may not seem like much, but by taking just a few minutes to help sweep
the floor or do a few dishes provides those ladies preparing meals a huge break. Remember,
they’ve been working in that kitchen most of the day. Your help is always greatly appreciated!
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who made our kitchen a huge success last month! Let’s all work
together to keep up the good work!
