Well, places on the rise are Serbia and Albania – both of which you can explore with Andante and in the company of our experts. Ratings explained We have designed a grading system to help you understand how strenuous or relaxed your tour is likely to be. The levels are determined by components that make up a tour, such as the distance and terrain walked, the driving distances covered and each day’s length. Activity Level Level 1 - Gentle A tour that is determined as gentle will have a relaxed pace, with little walking and less exertion where travel and day length are concerned. Level 2 - Light On light tours, anticipate mild walking with a mostly relaxed pace. There will be more visits and traveling than on our gentle tours, but not by much. Level 3 - Moderate A decent level of fitness is required for our moderate tours. There could be walking between sites, more standing and traveling to encounter. Level 4 - Active If you choose an active tour, come prepared for longer days – and ones that fit more in. More walking, bigger distances covered and more energy! Level 5 - Challenging For challenging tours, you’ll need to be physically fit. Days could include long drives, hikes and multiple visits, meaning they’ll be lengthy and tiring. The once-a-decade OBERAMMERGAU Passion Play 2020 In 1633, citizens in the Bavarian village of Oberammergau were struck by the deadly plague. They decided to make a promise to God that if no more lives were cut short by the disease, they would get together every 10 years to re-enact His life, suffering, death, and subsequent resurrection. Miraculously, the villagers’ lives were spared and so, a year later in 1634, the once-per-decade Passion Play of Oberammergau saw its inaugural performance. 2020 marks the 42nd performance of this legendary event and it truly is a bucket-list worthy experience.
