Artist’s Background
Israel Shotridge is one of Alaska’s finest Tlingit carvers. He was born and raised in Ketchikan,
Alaska in the heart of the Tongass National Forest which was named after his tribal ancestors; the
Tongass Tribe (Taantakwaan), the Sea Lion people. Israel is a member of the Bear Clan, which in
Tlingit is written as “Teikweidee”.
Israel’s Tlingit name, Kinstaadaal, means “The Bear That Is Standing Up.” His lineage is from
his mother Esther Shea who was the matriarch of the Bear clan Teikweidee-Taantakwaan of
Ketchikan, from the Kaats Hit Bear House. His father Milton Jackson was a Kaagwantaan Tlingit
from Klukwan, Alaska.
Israel and his wife Sue – who is also his business partner of 30 years often spends time between
Alaska and Washington state marketing Native art. As an Alaskan Native Artist, Israel brings to his
work the pride and sensitivity of his Indian heritage. The sophisticated beauty of Shotridge's Tlingit
designs are highly regarded in the world of art and his fine work is faithful to those traditional natural
images. Israel has been very instrumental in perpetuating the Tlingit culture and arts for over 35
years. Israel is a master artist, creating original museum quality art pieces for private, corporate
and public Native art collections worldwide on a commission basis, while Sue multi-tasks as the
Marketing & Sales Director for the The Shotridge Collection; A series of reproductions designed
Israel Shotridge by Israel, developed and managed by Sue.
Tlingit Master Artist
Shotridge Wholesale
Sue Shotridge, originally from the East Coast, has spent the last 30 years embracing Tlingit culture
and art. Sue has promoted and marketed for many Alaskan Native Artists over the years; carvers, weavers,
storytellers, and Native dancers. In 1990 Sue was culturally adopted into the Kiksadi Raven Frog Clan from
Wrangell, Alaska. Her Tlingit name Kinaa Kinaa was presented to her by the Kiksadi clan Leader, it means
"Raven Up Above Looking Down". Sue works very hard to uphold her Tlingit family by passing on the
knowledge taught to her by Tlingit Elders and sharing her love of song and dance with her daughter, and
granddaughter often.
As the major force behind the success of The Shotridge Collection reproductions over the past 28 years,
Sue Shotridge
her driving force has led the way in presenting authentic quality Northwest Coast products that feature

whimsical formline designs by Israel. Sue has developed dozens of successful product lines, made in the

USA specifically for the Visitor's Industry in the Pacific Northwest Coast. Sue works closely with a group of
selected high quality art professionals to develop each product line. The Shotridge Collection is a Native owned and operated business, made in
America. Often Sue's administrative position shifts to a more visual and creative role, Sue is also a skilled Jewelry Designer who has designed
several successful jewelry lines.

New Product Shotridge Studios offers its “SALMON RUN”
design in a museum quality archival giclée art print.
The Salmon Run design is currently available in multiple products: as an individual art card, an 8" x 10" matted
art card, an 18" x 26" (unframed) limited edition of 100 giclée art print or framed as a 20" x 30" size.
This design depicts the time when Salmon migrate from the ocean and swim to the upper reaches
of rivers where they spawn. Salmon plays an integral part in the life of indigenous people of the
Pacific Northwest. For many Northwest tribes Salmon provides the nutritional value that is needed for a
healthy life. Honored and celebrated by all coastal peoples, the Salmon serves as a powerful symbol
of regeneration, self-sacrifice and perseverance.

Limited Edition Giclée Art Prints
In 2016, we created This Limited Edition Giclee Art Print of 100 prints to
commemorate 25 years of Shotridge Studios being in business, marketing
the Shotridge Collection, A series of reproductions designed by Tlingit
Master Artist Israel Shotridge.
Kinaa Kinaa (Sue Shotridge) and Kinstaa´daa´l (Israel Shotridge) have been working together as a team
promoting, preserving and perpetuating Tlingit art and culture for 25 years.
Kinaa Kinaa is a member of the Kiksadi Raven Frog clan (represented in the Frog Canoe) from Wrangell,
Alaska and Kinstaa´daa´l is a member of the Teikweidee Bear clan ( represented in the Bear Canoe) of the
Tongass Tribe from Ketchikan, Alaska. Together Sue and Israel Shotridge, joined hands 25 years ago as
well in their marriage and have made their home and business base on Vashon Island, Washington.
The colors in the limited edition art print are very rich and will withstand time.
Attached to the back of the print is a certificate including the photograph of the Artist,
brief Bio and image description.

This Earring Collection is created by Kinaa Kinaa – Sue Shotridge.
There are 4 different earring styles in this collection. Each earring style includes one or more
abalone / paua shell beads, black onyx beads and silver findings. Prices will vary according to the
number of beads and sizes of the shell beads that are selected to create the earring designs.
The photos below show “examples” of the different styles and sizes. When ordering,
