McGill Treatment-Planning Study Club Sept 2019 - May 2020 Program Director The McGill Treatment-Planning Study Club will take a maximum of 15 participants, and over the course of the year will invite them to power their own learning engines by providing the content for small-group interactions. The focus of this study club centers on multidisciplinary, comprehensive cases encountered in the participants’ private offices. Participants will benefit from peer involvement in case discussion, augmented by a team of specialists. Following an introductory session, during which the participants will be guided as to how to document and present a case, each participant will be assigned a date from the list of evening small-group sessions. Prior to their date, each participant will upload the documented case to an online forum, so that the other participants, and the panel of specialists, can reflect on the case. During their session, each participant will make a short PowerPoint presentation of their documented case to the group. Then, with specialist input, the group will work together to put together an ideal treatment plan, as well as some alternate plans, as dictated by the specifics of each Sam Malkinson case. Soft Tissue Management in Periodontal Plastic Surgery and Implant Therapy Sep 21, 2019 In modern therapy, the reconstruction of periodontal and peri-implant soft tissues is a key aspect of treatment for aesthetic and functional purposes. Over the years, several surgical techniques have been proposed for the treatment of single and multiple recessions and peri-implant defects with different flap designs and connective tissue grafts, achieving an excellent level of scientific evidence. More recently, research has focused on collagen matrices as connective tissue grafts substitutes, in order to reduce post-operative discomfort and morbidity. Atraumatic Extraction & Ridge Preservation of Anterior & Posterior Teeth Feb 7-8, 2020 Successful oral rehabilitation often requires hard and soft tissue regeneration for ideal functional and esthetic outcomes. Implant dentistry has evolved and it is the standard of care for replacing single or multiple missing teeth. As a result understanding of the maintenance of bone and soft tissue after tooth extraction is essential. Today’s clinicians are achieving predictable results by grafting extraction sockets for ridge preservation utilizing the latest membranes and bone graft material. Socket grafting following tooth removal reduces bone loss, maintains ridge proportion, enhances esthetic and post-operative outcomes and satisfies patient expectations. Omid Kiarash This course will review practical application of atraumatic extraction, ridge grafting DMD, MSD, Dip Perio, ABP and ridge preservation. Clinical experience and scientific evidence will be presented Dr. Kiarash received his Post-graduate to support the materials and techniques demonstrated. Digital Removable Prosthodontics: A Simple Technology for Everyday Clinical Practice Feb 22, 2020 Computer Aided Design – Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology has made significant improvement in modern dentistry. CAD/CAM applications in dentistry that include fabrication of inlays, onlays, crowns, fixed partial dentures, and implant abutments/prostheses. Infection Prevention & Control: The Old & the New Mar 28, 2020 As dental licensing bodies require more stringent application of infection prevention practices and patients are becoming increasingly aware of the risks of infectious disease transmission as well as safety issues inherent in receiving dental treatment, dental practices must be able to apply increasingly complex policies and practice guidelines in order to promote a safe and professional treatment environment .
