Why Christchurch? There is a real buzz about Christchurch. Christchurch is New Zealand’s second largest city and it’s your gateway to our world famous great outdoors. Inside the city, there is an estimated $US30 billion to be spent in the region over the next five to eight years. The city is building a state of the art future, driven by safety, community and connectivity. Christchurch is the place to be. Christchurch is not only one of the most beautiful cities in the world and best located but also one of the most exciting places to be right now. It is reinventing itself every day. But we can’t do this alone. Christchurch’s economic growth has left gaps in the labour market and created new opportunities for budding entrepreneurs – we need highly talented people to help redefine the future of this region. I am proud to be a part of this time in our history as the city’s Mayor and hope that you can join us and be a part of the changing landscape of our city. Lianne Dalziel Mayor of Christchurch 4
