About us We are a family run business situated in the north of Pembrokeshire. The late William Stanley Rees established the company 60 years ago, which he then ran with his late son Wyndham. Midway Motors (Crymych) Ltd is now run by Wyndham’s wife and children. We are very proud of our personal, friendly service to all. Your comfort and safety is of uppermost importance to us. McHale, Smyth Trailers and Keenan Factories, Ireland £330 per perso n Sunday 21st to Wednesday 24th January, 2018 Description Ireland might be famous for making their Guinness, but they are also one of top manufactures in the world for farm machinery. Our tour of Ireland will visit the McHale factory near Galway. McHale farm machinery is one of the leading agriculture dealers in Ireland, providing quality tractors and farm machinery to meet the demands of agricultural contractors. McHale is a family run business, which was established by brothers Padraig and Martin McHale. Over the last 30 years they have developed a range of specialist farm machinery focusing on balers and bale wrappers for the production of round and square baled silage, and round bales of hay and straw. Day One We Leave Midway at 11.15pm on Sunday night and make our way to Fishguard for our crossing to Rosslare in Ireland. On our morning arrival in Ireland we start our way towards Galway, stopping for breakfast and lunch en-route before our arrival at our hotel in Galway. Day Two We make our way to the McHale factory in Ballinrobe. As ever, we will be welcomed with open arms to the factory and will be taken through the build process of these iconic green machines. Over 90% of McHale machines produced are destined for the export market. McHale balers and bale wrappers can be seen working in over 50 countries around the world. After lunch at the factory it’s time to bid farewell to McHale and make our way back to Killkenny, where a three course evening meal awaits us. Day Three After a full Irish breakfast we make our way to Smyth Trailers based in Carlow; a leading manufacturer and provider of trailers. The company was first established by brothers Sam and Clive Smyth. Today, a highly-skilled team of designers, fabricators, welders and finishers provide clients with long-lasting, robust and in many cases, bespoke solutions for their trailer requirements. After a tour around the factory we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant, before we continue to our next factory - Keenan, specialising in feeder wagons. Keenan’s story goes back to the 1960s, with the start of the development of the Keenan mixer wagon by farmer, engineer and innovator, Richard Keenan, a “reliable machine capable of handling the toughest feeding ingredients.” After a visit to the Keenan factory we start our way back to Rosslare stopping for food on the way to the boat. We hope to arrive home in Crymych at around 11pm. Hotel Hotels will be a minimum of 3 star, with en-suite facilities, TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. The Black and White Villages £er330 and Malvern Hills p person Monday 12th to Thursday 15th February, 2018 Description Join us on our Warners luxury break to Herefordshire. Our base at the Warners Holme Lacy House Hotel is a Grade I listed mansion and was completed in 1674 and was reportedly visited by Charles II. Set in 50 acres of gardens in the Wye Valley, Holme Lacy is one of Herefordshire’s treasures and we’re sure it won’t disappoint. This holiday will see us roaming around the Black and White Trail and the wonderful Malvern Hills, as well as visiting Hereford City. Day One We depart Crymych and make our way to The Holme Lacy House Hotel, with comfort stops on the way to keep us relaxed. Day Two After a hearty breakfast we take you on a tour of the Best of The Black-and-White trail. As the name suggests, it’s characterised by the large number of timbered and half-timbered houses in the area, some dating from mediaeval times. This trail is a 40-mile journey around Herefordshires Villages, including Eardisland - Award-winning “Prettiest Village”, Weobley, and Pembridge. As wel as these, we will visit Kinnersley, Sarnesfield, Lyonshall and Kingsland - and, of course, the two market towns of Kington and Leominster – to give you the key elements of the now famous Black and White Village Trail. Day Three Today we make the short distance to enjoy a half day trip in Hereford City. Relax in a coffee shop, stroll around the traffic-free city centre, top-up your cultural habit at the Cathedral – all just a short stroll from each other. This afternoon we make our way back to the Holme Lacy for you to enjoy the many activities that the Warner team has to offer. Day Four After breakfast we make our way east to Great Malvern. The delight of Great Malvern today is still its unspoilt beauty, with a glimpse of the past Victorian era, including its many still- working gas lamps, stunning views of the Severn Valley and wonderful shops and cafes. Here you will have a master class in pasta making. With this break, enjoy the buzz of the rugby as well as seeing some of what Ireland has to offer. Day One Leave Crymych at 11.30 to catch the afternoon ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare. We will be arriving in Ireland at approximately 16.30. We will then travel up to the hotel in Enniscorthy. Here, we enjoy a 3-night stay on a bed, breakfast and evening meal basis. Day Two Today we will take an adventure to the medieval town of Kilkenny. You could have a look at the grand castle that was built by Norman occupiers in 1195, or take a stroll around St Canice’s impressive Cathedral and Black Abbey Dominican priory. Another option is to soak up the atmosphere in the many bars and restaurants that are on offer. Day Three Today is the big day. After a leisurely breakfast, we work our way up to Dublin to watch the all-important game between Ireland and Wales. If you’re lucky enough to get tickets, you will get dropped off near the stadium. But if not, don’t worry, the atmosphere in the pubs and bars will be electric. Day Four This morning will be at your leisure in Enniscorthy, before we make our way to Wexford for a few hours before catching the 18.10 ferry back to Fishguard, where we hope to arrive at 21.30. Italian Riviera of Flowers and Monte Carlo £690 per perso n Sunday 1st to Tuesday 10th April, 2018 Description Discover the Italian Riviera, or the ‘Riviera of Flowers’ on this spectacular holiday, which offers many vistas, from the green hills of the inland valleys to historic hilltop villages and beautiful sandy beaches. Our hotel is located near the French/ Italian border, making it the ideal base for a day trip to the glitz and glamour of Monte Carlo and the stunning Italian coastline. Day One We Depart Crymych and make our way to Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais, then on to our first overnight in Arras, France. Day Two After Breakfast we make our way south calling at the champagne factory in Mercier where we will visit the champagne cellars in Epernay. We will descend 30 metres underground and board a small train that will take us on a trip through part of the 18km long cellars. Once we return to the surface we can enjoy a flute of Mercier champagne. We then continue to our overnight hotel; Hotel Ibis, Macon. Day Three After breakfast, we make our way to the beautiful city of Avignon, set on the banks of the Rhône with dramatic views of its 800 year old medieval ramparts surrounding the magnificent Palais des Papes. We then make a short afternoon stop in Cannes, with its famous red carpet and amazing yachts in the marina, it’s the perfect location for an afternoon drink or ice cream. We then continue to our family run hotel in San Bartolomeo al Mare. Day Four This morning, we will visit the vibrant resort of Alassio. Having been popular with British Victorian holidaymakers, the resort is full of expatriate heritage, including an English language library which is one of the oldest in Italy. We can enjoy wandering around the Budello di Alassio, where the history of the town can be most appreciated, with its numerous shops, churches and piazzas and stroll along its impressive, sandy beach – one of the best in Italy! In the afternoon, we make our way back to our hotel via the ancient hilltop village of Cervo (if steps and steep inclines are not an issue) classed as one of the “most beautiful villages in Italy”.
What’s included? 9 Nights Half Board Luxury Coach Travel Live Music One Evening Mercier Champagne Tour Day Five Today, we can spend the day relaxing by the pool or Italian Wine Tasting strolling along the lovely sandy beach near our hotel. Another option would be to take a short bus to the neighbouring resort of Diano Marina with its long flat promenade and ample cafes and bars. Day Six After breakfast today we will visit Ventimiglia where we will have the chance to visit its famous Friday market. Travellers and residents from both Italy and France flock to its streets filled with hundreds of stalls selling everything from clothes to household items – don’t be afraid to barter! Alternatively, we may decide to visit the amazing Hanbury Botanical Gardens (Not Included) where walking paths snake through 45 acres of plants, buildings and fountains. In the afternoon, we pay a visit to San Remo. For 300 years, San Remo has attracted the aristocracy to its palm-fringed shores and we can spend the afternoon exploring the historic La Pigna area of the town (if steps and steep inclines are not an issue) or visiting the Villa Nobel and Gardens. Day Seven This morning, we will make our way to the village of Èze and the Fragonard perfume factory where we will enjoy a free guided tour of its modern laboratories and workshops, discovering the trade secrets of how its perfumes, soaps and cosmetics are produced. We can enjoy lunch in Èze before continuing to Monaco where we can spend time exploring the old town area with its medieval narrow alleyways and historic buildings and museums. Here we can visit the spectacular Prince’s Palace, where we can discover its many quirks. (Please note, entry is not included and access to the State Apartments is by stairs only and is not wheelchair accessible). Day Eight Sadly it’s time to depart the Italian Riviera, we make our way home travelling through the Italian/French Alps with comfort stops en-route before arriving at our overnight hotel the Ibis Hotel, Dijon. Day Nine After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to the wonderful city of Reims, it is then on to Lille for our second overnight at the Altia Hotel, Lille. Hotel Day Ten After breakfast we depart Lille For our first overnight stay on the way, we will stay in Mercure to catch the ferry back to Dover, before the onward drive to west Hotel, Arras, France. Wales. We hope to arrive home Our second overnight stay will be at Hotel Ibis, Macon. early evening. Our main hotel, Hotel Bergamo, is a small, family run hotel in San Bartolomeo al Mare. Only a 3 minute walk from the beach, and with a private swimming pool, this is the perfect relaxing base for our Italian Riviera adventure. This popular seaside resort is one of the most appreciated on the whole coast between Genoa and the Principality of Monaco. Your air-conditioned room is equipped with your own private balcony, from which you can enjoy beautiful views across the countryside and the Riviera, as well as free wifi and ensuite. On the way back, we will stay overnight at Hotel Ibis, Dijon. Our last overnight stay will be at the Altia Hotel, Lille.

Day Two After a full Scottish breakfast, we travel to Glasgow where will have a guided tour of the city. Glasgow, a port city on the River Clyde is famed for its Victorian and art nouveau architecture, a rich legacy of the city’s 18th-20th century prosperity due to trade and shipbuilding. Today, it’s a national cultural hub, home to institutions like the Scottish Opera, Ballet and National Theatre of Scotland, as well as many museums and a thriving music scene. After plenty of time exploring Glasgow, we will head back to the hotel for our evening meal.

There is also a museum to be explored housing manuscripts, books, artefacts and artwork. Then, on to the seaside resort of Ayr with its charming sea front and esplanade and a long sandy beach. Once we have had time to enjoy what Ayr has to offer, we will head back to our hotel for our 3 course evening meal. Ypres – 100 Years Remembered Thursday 26th to Monday 30th July, 2018 £390 per perso n Description The First World War finally came to an end at eleven o’clock on the morning of November 11th 1918. One hundred years after the end of the Great War, our commemorative tour explores the poignant battlefield sites, museums and memorials dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in Flanders Fields. Day One We travel to Dover for the short ferry crossing to Calais. Once there, we will travel onto the beautiful city of Ypres where we will stay in the Novotel Central for 4 nights. Day Two This morning, we embark upon a tour of the wartime sights surrounding Ypres itself. Our first stop is the largest and most famous of the British and Commonwealth Cemeteries, Tyne Cot only a short distance away from the hotel. We then continue onto the Welsh memorial, unveiled in August 2014 to commemorate the services of men and women from Wales. We continue our Flanders tour by visiting Artillery Wood, the memorial ground of welsh language poet Hedd Wyn who was killed near Ypres, Belgium, during the Battle of Passchendaele in World War I. He was posthumously awarded the bard’s chair at the 1917 National Eisteddfod. Scores of volunteers bundle their efforts to build the most dazzling floral floats full of gorgeous dahlias to participate in Europe’s largest Flower Parade. If you’ve got a soft spot for flowers, this is one event you do not want to miss. We will also take time roaming around some of Holland’s most picturesque villages, towns and cities and getting a feel for some of the Dutch traditions. Day One We depart Crymych this morning and make our way to Harwich, to board our overnight ferry to Hook of Holland. En-route to Harwich we will stop for comfort stops and for an evening meal before our 11pm ferry departure. (Evening meal is not included). Day Two Good morning Holland! After our arrival at 8am we make our way to the Netherlands Open Air Museum with over 80 historic houses, farmhouses and mills. A 1 hour guided tour really brings the history and culture of the Netherlands to life! We can meet friendly farmers, the blacksmith, fisherman and miller and travel on an historic tram around the park. After a wonderful introduction to Holland’s past, we make the short journey to our hotel. Day Three After breakfast we make our way to Enkhuizen where we will take the wonderful coastal cruise to Medemblik. Once we have arrived here, we will board the Steamtram. From the wooden 3rd class seats in your carriage you will experience a story from a different era. Between the historic “Zuiderzee” towns of Hoorn , Medemblik and Enkhuizen steamtrams meander from village to village across the Westfrisian countryside and an old-fashioned steamer. After this wonderful morning of travelling through some of Hollands calm countryside, we make our way to the traditional fishing village of Volendam. This delightful village really is a picture of Holland as it used to be centuries ago. It retains much of its old-world charm and it is not hard to imagine the hardworking fishermen returning with the morning’s catch and the women sat repairing their nets in front of the rows of quaint wooden cottages lining the picturesque waterfront. The villagers are renowned for still wearing traditional Dutch dress, including the ladies’ white pinafores and curved bonnets, and you may catch a glimpse of them arm in arm, during an enjoyable stroll around the Doolhoof – the maze of tiny, narrow alleys and confusing jumble of houses nestling safely behind the waterfront dyke.
