Challenge yourself

Take on one of the world’s
    most iconic trekking trails in
    the world with Chestnut Tree
House. This classic Inca Trail in
    Peru encompasses three high
    mountain passes – the highest
at 4,200m – and consists of
    hiking through sub-tropical
    vegetation, cloud forest and
    ascending snow-capped peaks.
The trekking will be tough, but
    the spectacular sight of Machu
    Picchu will never be forgotten.

    Starting in Cusco our
    adventurers will hike through
    beautiful trails such as the
    Kusichaca Valley and Dead
    Woman’s Pass. Together the
    team will pass impressive
    archaeological sites, lush green
    mountains and Inca tunnels,
    before reaching the Sun Gate
    and descending to the ruined
    lost city with spectacular views
    of the Andes.

Why challenge yourself
    for Chestnut Tree House?

Chestnut Tree House cares for local children
with life-shortening conditions – giving them
the chance to do all sorts of things that kids
love doing. Each year, we look after hundreds
of children and their families right across East
and West Sussex and South East Hampshire,
giving them the chance to live life to the full –
for as much time as they have together.
These children and families live in the moment,
for the now. When you are facing the greatest
of challenges, it’s the smallest of moments that
really matter – taking time to relax, knowing
your child is safe; splashing in the hydrotherapy
pool together; talking to one of the nurses who
    understands exactly how difficult
    things are.
It costs over £3.5 million every It’s the smallest
year to provide this care and
with just 7p per pound coming of moments that we rely on our
    from central government funding,
                                               really matter amazing supporters
                                                                                  – the trekkers,
                                                                                  the climbers and
adventurers – to help us raise the rest and
                                                        continue providing this vital care.
So why not challenge yourself and join our
team of adventurers? Not only will you be
trekking 52km on tough, exhilarating trails,
but between you, you’ll be raising enough
money to pay for all our care services at the
hospice and in families’ own homes for the
entire duration of the trip. Along the way,

zone, traversing peaks and valleys and finally

Here’s what some of our
    previous trekkers have to
    say about their challenges
    for Chestnut Tree House

“Arm in arm we conquered the challenge together and
that was the nicest part of it - doing the challenge with
a group of people I might never have met otherwise.
Each person had their own reasons for taking part, and
each person had their own struggles during the week,
but we all helped each other. The experience was
    completely life changing.”
    Sarah, Worthing.

“It’s doing something out of the ordinary; something
totally different and fundraising for a great cause at
    the same time.”
    Jo, St Leonards on Sea

“It will be a life-changing experience. It’s something
that is going to stay with us for the rest of our lives.”
    David and Lukasz, Hove

“I wanted to do something special for my 50th in
honour of my lovely Dad who sadly lost his battle
with cancer at the tender ago of only 48 and never
made his 50th birthday. The hospice movement was
so fantastic to Dad that I always intended to help
them when I reached 50. I was already aware of the
amazing Chestnut Tree House hospice as we used to
support them at our local primary school.”
    Julie, Pulborough

“I’m so proud to have been part of the Chestnut
Challenge team with a group of such amazing people
who all pushed themselves to the limit both physically
    and emotionally. An unforgettable experience.”
    Caroline, Arundel
