Cronulla Seagulls Football Club PRESIDENT Report Welcome 2017 saw Cronulla Seagulls FC become the largest club in the Sutherland shire association for the first time in our 59 year history with a record 1607 registered players and over 130 teams. We also became one of the most successful clubs on the pitch hav- ing won 9 minor premierships and 9 premierships. I would like to thank all the junior seagulls for taking up the ssg ref- ereeing they did such a great job and made the club proud. I would like to thank all our coaches and managers for their time and effort, the club really appreciates it without their volunteered partici- pation we will not be able to achieve the clubs goals. Our sponsors a big thank you once again for their financial support which continues to benefit our members by providing the club the opportunity to hire great playing facilities like 5sports. To our members thank you for being part of the clubs great achieve- ment and hope to see you all in 2018. To the clubs committee members once again they have to be con- gratulated on ensuring the club is run smoothly so our players can enjoy their sport. As the club keeps growing we encourage parents to be involved with the club as the committee is often stretched. If you would like to volunteer some of your time join the team in helping out with a variety of duties such as grading, set ups and pack ups. Next year the club will be celebrating their 60th year and we would like to see all returning members be part in celebrating the big occa- sion. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club SECRETARY Report 2017 turned out to be another triumphant year for the Seagulls. Our Registrations have grown once again this year to hit our all-time high. The Club grows from strength to strength and I would like to thank all of our new registrations and of course, a big thanks to our returning players. I would like to personally thank the committee members for their efforts. The committee are always active throughout the year (not just during the season itself ). As soon as the season finishes, we have to prepare for the presentations, then after that, we start to prepare for the next season, then before we know it, Registrations come around, Grading, Team allocations and then the season kicks-off. To the Canteen and the BBQ people, thank you for your support and hard work during the season. All profits made from the Canteen and BBQ are used by the Seagulls club to improve its facilities and to purchase new equipment. Thank you to all those teams that did their Ground Duties and Setups. Without your involvement, we would not be able to get the games started on those cold winter mornings. Thanks to our Miniroo Referees. We had 28 Miniroo Refs, aged between 13 and 15 and what a fantastic job they did throughout the season. Hopefully our older ones move on to become Black and White Refs and our first year Refs return next season. Special thanks go out to all the Parents and Supporters of our teams. It is great to see some very enthusiastic supporters early on a Saturday morning and on Sundays with our Senior teams. We always need new committee members prepared to offer some of their valuable time. We need members that are there for all players and want to put in a little bit extra to make a difference in the club, that. We are always looking for committee members from all age groups, Junior and Senior. So, if you want to get involved by being on the committee, please send an email to me at secretary@cronullaseagulls.com. Last but not least, best wishes to all the players and their families for the off season and we look forward to seeing all of you back again next season. Rob Brown, Secretary TREASURERS Report Quite a good year for the club, due to the increase in registrations and only one washout this year. A big thank you to all our sponsors. Thanks to our canteen ladies, Simone, Cath, Karen, Anne and Hayley for another great year. Also thanks to our BBQ chefs, Terry and his new assistants Matt and Soph, and the parents that helped out during their ground control. On a sad note we bid farewell to Simone, who has been our canteen controller for quite a number of years. She will be missed. Best wishes to all our players and their families for the off season and we look forward to seeing all of you back again next season. Liz Pavett Treasurer 6 Yearbook 2017

Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports 6A1 BACK ROW L-R: Damon Snape (Coach) FRONT ROW: Matthew Bourdier, Lochie Schumacher, Arlo Snape, Daniel Harrington, Victor Karpenkov, Ash Wooldridge ABSENT: Rachelle Harrington (Manager) W hat a great season!. 6 amazing boys with 6 different skill sets, came together for one fun season of soccer. Some had played before, others brand new & I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous about the ‘A’ grading we received. But, we held our own & showed everyone we were deserving of being there. We won more than we lost, we scored more goals than we had scored against us - but best of all, you embraced the spirit of the sport & played for fun each & every week. Thank you to all the families for the early starts, the cold trainings & helping out wherever possible - Sean, Suze & myself really appreciate it. To Alex, Axel, Harrison, Henry, Josh.F & Josh.S - thank you gentlemen you were a pleasure. 6A2 BACK ROW L-R: Taryn Evans & Sean O’Flynn (Coach) FRONT ROW: Henry O’Flynn, Harrison Towle, Axel Mawer, Josua Sapsed, Joshua Ford ABSENT: Alex Wilkins, Suzanne Sapsed (Manager) 2017 Yearbook 13

Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports N ot so long ago, at a field not too far away, the Cronulla Seagulls U6B team had an epic season which has certainly set the scene for the destiny of these budding young troopers. Led by Supreme Chancellor, Coach Greg, the teams mission was to (unlike old mate Master Yoda) try to do their best! The Chancellor had to work hard to build their skills and on many occasions, restore peace within the ranks. With unprecedented training on their side, Coach Greg led them to many victories within the galactic football empire. At times their opponents would rise from the ashes but U6B were able to remain calm knowing there was always next week. To witness the alliance of Crafty Colin, Masterful Max, Crowd-Pleaser Kingston, World-Class Will, Long-Range Lachie and Killer Keani was a clear demonstration that the force created by this team both on and off the field is far greater than the sum of the individual players. Well done boys! To anyone who doubted us, we found 6B BACK ROW L-R: Jo Targett (Manager), Greg Murrell (Coach) FRONT ROW: Colin Murrell, Max Furlong, Lachlan Targett, Kingston McHugh, Keani Desrets, William Zandt your lack of faith disturbing. T he U6C1’s had a fantastic season this year. For some it was their second season of competition, others their first foray into a team sport. Whilst they started the competition as new friends in many cases, the boys bonded quickly and formed a strong team. They trained hard and all showed significant improvement in their skill level as the season progressed. It was wonderful to see their confidence and team spirit blossom. All the boys demonstrated excellent sportsmanship towards their teammates and their opponents. They tried their hardest, did their best and most importantly, had lots of fun playing a game they love. A big thank you to Chad for his amazing patience with the coaching, Carissa for her organisation when juggling 7 boys on and off the field and to all our loyal supporters and families who came out each week to watch the boys play and cheer them on. 6C1 BACK ROW L-R: Ryder Stewart, Bede Smith, Logan Caldwell, Chad Stewart (Coach) FRONT ROW: Sam Murphy, Ethan Harper, Jesse Roeder, Harrison Kelly ABSENT: Carissa Smith (Manager) 2017 Yearbook 15
Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports O ur boys had a great season. A majority of the team, it was their first season of outdoor soccer. As the season progressed, They showed the skills that they had been learning at training thanks to coach Adams great advice and wisdom. Each of the boys had special days throughout the season which won them the player of the day trophy. the parents thoroughly enjoyed Saturday mornings watching the boys play, except the chilling morning at Gymea. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports U6D2 - What a fantastic year the boys had together. I t was great to see them develop over the season in the way they played together, going from trying to tackle everyone on the field including each other to supporting their team mates with the ball and their passing skills. The growth in confidence on the field really showed especially in Isaac and Jake, with Jake taking charge late in the season to score a number of goals....fantastic! Joel and Jed lead the charge on the field with both keen to run the ball and scored plenty of goals throughout the season. Isaac put in a solid performance through the year also getting on the scoring sheet. Scotty amazed everyone, including the opposition, with a few of long range goals, one from the kickoff at halfway. Bowie was not to be outdone either with a number of goals and at one point in the season became the slide- tackling master saving a number of goals. 6D2 BACK ROW L-R: Adam Winning (Manager), Isaac Burgess, Scott Johnston, Jed Cooper, Melanie Cooper (Coach) FRONT ROW: Bowie Wright, Jake Zuvela, Joel Winning The teams defensive play matched their attack throughout and is reflected in the teams stats, winning 14 of their games, drawing 1 and loosing only 2. They scored 101 goals for and only 23 against. Jed, Isaac, Bowie, Jake, Scott and Joel should be proud of their efforts and achievements over the season, both at training and through the games themselves. All the boys put in a super effort and they should be commended. 6E1 BACK ROW L-R: Joanne Stephenson (Manager), Thomas Altundag, Liam Tauber, Ewan Bayer, Mark Bayer (Coach) FRONT ROW: Brodie Stephenson, Marc Edwards, William Gabriel, Knoxx Goodman 2017 Yearbook 17
Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports T he team made up of six boys, Fletcher, Nicholas, Luca, Bobby, Parker, and Charlie, it was their first time playing soccer and from the beginning they all got along really well. Starting off as the U6F’s and then quickly re-graded to U6E2’s. Early on in the season they were all chasing the ball as a group but as the season progressed and with training drills practiced their passing skills soon developed. With numerous wins and only 3 losses all season, the boys played extremely well together. Demonstrating good sportsmanship, congratulating and shaking hands with their opponents each game. They loved to celebrate goals with a spontaneous team hug or premier league style celebration. It was a great pleasure coaching the boys and watching them grow their skills throughout the season. I hope their experience playing in the team has set them up for a life long love of the game. Looking forward to another great season next year. 6E2 BACK ROW L-R: Peter Oliver (Manager), Gary Woodside (Coach) FRONT ROW: Bobby Johnston, Parker Dalton-Kerr, Fletcher Sellick, Nicholas Woodside, Luca Maunz, Charlie Oliver Cheers Gary and Peter W hat a great season for the U6G1 team the first year that the 7 boys had played soccer together as a team. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports T he 6G2s had an amazing year. We started off with six determined little players, but ended the season with only four. However, they were a dedicated group of four that turned up to every match. The second half of the season saw their true talents emerge as they regularly won every match, even though they were playing teams with a full complement of players who could substitute tired players. We had the amazing Matthew with the biggest kick you have ever seen on a six year old. Owen whose tenacity saw him always first in to tackle the opposition and mark his player. Alex who could see strategy far beyond his five years of age – always predicting where he should be at the right time to foil the opposition’s play. And David, our top goal scorer, whose fancy footwork and superfast running often saw him racing the entire length of the field to score a goal, only to also belt back down the other end to defend when needed. 6G2 Boys, you made all your parents proud! Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports A nother great year for the 7As. The way these boys played their soccer this season made everyone so very proud of them. Not only did all the boys develop their skills and understanding of the game, they also had fun every week and most importantly played with good sportsmanship throughout the year. This close-knit group of boys have formed a formidable team and certainly enjoy winning. The mighty seagulls 7As beat every other team this year and were undefeated in 2 gala days. Highlights include Jacob’s perfect passing, positional play and goal scoring, Jarvis’s amazing ball skills, pace and goal scoring, Roman’s competitiveness, defence and long-range goal scoring, Matt’s strength, ball skills and goal scoring and Vasili’s incredible dribbling skills, pace and goal scoring. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports 2017 was a year were we welcomed 3 new girls Dylan, Vivienne and Chehlo to the team, all of whom had not played before. But their transition to the team was seamless. Our remaining girls Charlotte, Rose and Mia welcomed them with open arms and together we had a great year. The girls gave their all and at times played some really entertaining soccer. As their coach it was a pleasure coaching and training them. They really were an enthusiastic bunch and this showed in the games. As the year progressed so did their confidence and with it their skill level. I know the parents really enjoyed watching them. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports T he U7E Cronulla Seagulls kicked off 2017 pre- season with some fresh faces in the team. Aden and Zavier joined Max, Jack, Declan and Jee under the direction of Coach Mark, as Coach Melanie took a sabbatical this year. The boys quickly got to grips with Coach Mark’s new training regimen and entered the season full of confidence and new skills. During the season, there were some wins and some losses but the kids always played with enthusiasm and a great team spirit. No doubt this year’s U7E Seagulls were led by player of the year Max Proctor, who with his sublime dribbling and shooting skills, must have scored 30+ goals in the season. Well done Max, this lad is definitely one to watch! Declan and Aden also busted the net a few times, and as the season went on, all the boys started to get to grips with the Dutch style pass and move tactics drilled into them by Coach Mark during those cold Monday nights at training. 7E BACK ROW L-R: Marc Proctor (Coach) FRONT ROW: Max Proctor, Jeehoon Jones, Jack Downes, Zavier Koutantos, Declan Vandenberg Jack, Jee and Zavier all improved significantly through ABSENT: Aden Fantov the year and always gave 100% to the team cause. A nother great year for the boys in U7! 2017 began with a mixture of 2016 team members as well as some new recruits for 2017 who fit in tremendously. By week 3 the boys all gelled as a great team unit with the fantastic coaching skills from Craig Steen. Over the season, the boys learned some excellent soccer skills and as spectator parents & grandparents we got to see some very ‘fancy footwork’ at times on game day to distract us from the cold. The boys enjoyed a mix of wins, draws and losses throughout the season, but most importantly they had fun and made great friends in the process. Thank you to our Coach, our Manager, as well as all the parents & Grandparents who helped out week after week throughout the season. We look forward to doing it all again next year. 7F BACK ROW L-R: Craig Steen (Coach), Angus McQuaid, Fynn Bagley, Will Holden, Dennis Baillon (Manager) FRONT ROW: Lucas Kadi, Jesse Steen, AJ Schwarzer, Ryder Baillon ABSENT: Vanessa Baillon (Manager) 2017 Yearbook 23

Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports W ell what a great year we had in the U7I-1’s. New Team, new friends and a great bunch of parents, grandparents and supporters. With the boys split almost 50/50 from the two local schools it was great to see how quickly they all bonded and the friendships they instantly formed. Our soccer this year was all about understanding the basics, learning new skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and above all having fun. Training was a blast every Monday and the boys seemed to enjoy it just as much, if not more then gameday. On the soccer front, the boys had a cracking start to the season and put in a great effort all year finishing off with more than our fair share of wins. The coveted “Man of the Match” was always a highlight on gameday as well as the goal scoring celebrations. I was very proud of all of them, and it was a pleasure to be there coach. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports Cronulla Seagulls 8A’s 2017 was a fun year for the 8A’s. For most of the boys it was their first year playing together and they all had a great time playing on Saturday morning, training throughout the week, and enjoying each other’s company. It was lovely to watch all the boys develop different skills, and by the end of the season they were playing as a well-oiled team and implementing Troy’s well though-out game plans. Despite the tough competition the boys always tried their best and we were proud of their efforts and their sportsmanship when winning and losing. A ll the girls and parents are absolutely thrilled with the season this year! After the mid-season regrade to the A’s the girls very quickly showed they deserved the promotion, continuing to play extremely well and improving week by week. The season highlight was definitely the first match against Bosco when our team was down 4-0 at half time. Some encouraging half time words and a supporter base that screamed their lungs out spurred the girls on to a stunning 5-5 draw - the most exciting game of the season. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports End of Season Wrap Up!!! The parents were teary, the girls were inconsolable. Another great soccer year had come to an end! Then we went for coffee!!! But seriously, we have come to the end of another awesome year of early Saturday morning soccer games. We were lucky with the weather...only 1 wash out and lots of beautiful sunny winter mornings. 8am at Engadine was the coldest with the risk of frostbite setting in! We welcomed 3 new players to our team. Elise, Lara and Angela. Elise knew the girls from WPS, Lara knew Tilly and Angela knew no one! Lara and Angela were very brave early on coming to training and the games, and getting to know the team. The season was very competitive with our team being moved up to B grade. They had fantastic results: 10 wins, 4 losses and 3 draws. Rory was top goal scorer with 19 goals, Luka 9 goals and W8B BACK ROW L-R: Natalie Powell (Coach), Aurora Stark-Harris, Ellie Cooper, Josie Tasker, Lara Richardson, Josie 6. Cronulla Seagulls Football Club TEAMS And Reports T he W8C2’s had a terrific season full of cartwheels, chatting, giggles.........and soccer! The girls loved playing each week and couldn’t wait to get out on the field. Along with Olivia, Lizzie, Rosie, Charli and Tabitha from previous seasons, we welcomed Skye, Stella, Grace and Lara into the team, who slotted in straight away and were very welcome additions. The girls adapted quickly to the bigger field, throw in’s, corners and all did a great job at being Goalie. Their skills improved greatly throughout the season and the girls were very competitive, finishing with more wins than losses. The most pleasing part was watching them really play as a team, and playing with great sportsmanship. The boundless energy of our team carried over from our tortuous training sessions to the field. Regardless of outcome every member had a smile on their face at the end of game. Of notable performances were the surging runs of Zara and the fleet-of-foot of Neive; tactile elegance of Charlotte & Eliana through the mid field; and the golden boot of Maddy with Eva using her height for intimidation! Our stars strikers Charlie and Marcus were in the right place at the right time, always counting on the strong support of the midfielders Beau, Fletcher, Kayden, Harry and Hugo who also regularly put in their own goals. Our defender Rhys, James and Oliver took their position very serious putting in 110% to stop that ball going through.
