DO NOT BRING PORK-DERIVED PRODUCTS FROM ABROAD
African Swine Fever is not present in Mexico, but it can be brought into
the country in processed or raw foods from Belgium, Bulgaria, Burkina
Faso, Cambodia, Chad, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Czech Republic,
Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Democratic Republic of Timor-
Leste, Estonia, Hungary, Italy (Sardinia), Kenya, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania,
Malawi, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Nigeria, Philippines,
Poland, Republic of Congo, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russia,
Slovakia, Senegal, Serbia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Ukraine, Vietnam,

DUE TO OUTBREAKS OF AFRICAN SWINE FEVER
It is prohibited to bring into the country live pigs, pork products or pork by-
products originating in Belgium, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Chad,
China, Côte d’Ivoire, Czech Republic, Democratic People's Republic of
Korea, Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Estonia, Hungary, Italy
(Sardinia), Kenya, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Malawi, Moldova, Mongolia,
Myanmar, Namibia, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Republic of Congo,
Republic of Korea, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Senegal, Serbia, Sierra
Leone, South Africa, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe. In addition,
thorough inspection measures and sanitary mats will be applied upon
arrival. Senasica protects us all!

IF YOU TRAVEL WITH YOUR PET FROM THE UNITED STATES OR
CANADA
You should contact official or auxiliary Senasica personnel who will
perform a brief physical inspection of your pet to verify:
• That it shows no signs of infectious or contagious diseases,
• That it is free of parasites*

     • That it does not have fresh or healing wounds.
•!

     Note:
     If the physical inspection detects parasites, you should contact a
     veterinary doctor of your choice and at your expense to apply an
     appropriate treatment. In the event ticks are detected, the official or
     auxiliary Senasica personnel will take a sample of the parasite(s) for
     diagnosis in the official laboratory, and verify that all the specimens on
     your pet are removed, holding it in the Agricultural Health Inspection
     Office (OISA) until it is confirmed that these are not specimens exotic for
     Mexico, or subject to a campaign.

     If it does not represent a risk, Senasica through the General Directorate
     of Animal Health will determine the measures to be applied. Any costs
     arising will be at your own expense.

     Introduction of disposable beds and similar materials (diaper, newspaper,
     sawdust, rags, etc.) that accompany the animal(s) is not permitted. Only
     enough balanced feed without ruminant content for the day of arrival is
     permitted.

     Compliance with these provisions does not exempt the person importing
     the animal from complying with procedures required by other authorities

     BRINGING CHESTNUTS FROM SPAIN IS PROHIBITED
     They can be carriers of pests that are not present in Mexico.
     REMEMBER, DO NOT INTRODUCE BANANA PRODUCTS AND THEIR
     DERIVATIVES TO MEXICO
     This is due to the outbreak of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical
     race 4 (FOC R4T) in Colombia.
     INTRODUCING POULTRY PRODUCTS IS PROHIBITED
     Originating in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, in
     California and Utah.

     No type of raw beef, pork, chicken and turkey can enter Mexico. Be
     aware and inform yourself to avoid delays upon arrival!

TOURIST INFORMATION

Bringing products of animal, vegetable, aquaculture and fishery origin into
the country can introduce pests and diseases that do not exist in Mexico,
which would cause losses to production and the national economy.

It is permitted to introduce the following products in amounts for personal
use and consumption:

    Vegetables
    Meat
    Dairy products
    Hams and sausages
    Fish and seafood
    Products for animal consumption

All merchandise will be inspected, and must be free of pests and
diseases. In the event that insect holes or evidence of live pests is
detected, all merchandise will be returned or destroyed.

Annex 01 List of Allowed and Prohibited Products

     PROHIBITED PRODUCTS

     Foods
•!   Fresh cheeses
•!   Country chicken
•!   Live, raw and dried crustaceans
•!   Fresh meat of any species
•!   Homemade or handmade products
•!   Sandwiches, hamburgers, pizzas, etc., with meat and dairy content that
     are not properly packaged, or lack the health mark of the competent
     authority

      Animals
•!   Any regulated animal species, including fish, crustaceans or turtles
     (except dogs and cats)
•!   Containers with animals or animal remains (blood, feathers, bones, offal,
     others)
•!   Balanced food for any species, including aquaculture products for animal
     consumption (except for dogs and cats).
•!   Balanced dog and cat food containing beef, sheep and goat products
•!   Regulated products in poor condition, in decomposition or showing
     presence of larvae or insects.

     Other prohibited products:
•!   Earth or soil
•!   Untanned leather products
•!   Vessels or items with content of animal, vegetable or unknown origin
•!   Genetic material from any species
•!   Hunting trophies (mounted, fresh, salted, other)
•!   Clothing incorporating animal bones, skin or feathers
•!   Handicrafts made from carved or polished horn or bone
•!   Clothing and accessories intended for bullfighting, charrería or bull riding,
     when blood or remains of animal tissues are present. (These will be

     permitted to enter when they appear completely clean and disinfected
     and subject to prophylactic treatment at the point of entry)
•!   Pharmaceutical, chemical and biological products for animal use or
     consumption, or those that indicated for therapeutic or research
     purposes.

     The following may only be brought into the country if the importer
     meets the requirements set out in the Phytosanitary Requirements
     Module for importing goods of plant

•!   Propagative material (seeds, bulbs, scions, buds, cuttings, etc.)
•!   Flowers, plants, vegetables and fresh fruits.
•!   Grains (corn, beans, rice, quinoa, wheat, sesame, sunflower, beans,
     lentils, etc.)
•!   Coffee and green tobacco
•!   Fresh chestnuts

     This list is indicative and not exhaustive.

     Compliance with the requirements of this agency does not exempt
     you from compliance with the requirements of the airline and/or
     other authorities
