Come fly with us on our first-ever trip around Indonesia by private air. Traveling aboard our own charter plane gives us plenty of time to explore the far corners of the island nation’s Java Sea—from Bali to Borobudur, Borneo and Sulawesi. With longtime Stanford Travel/Study faculty leader Scott Pearson, we’ll begin in Bali, a place I fell in love with some 30 years ago for its serenity and natural beauty. We’ll also view the world’s largest Buddhist temple in Borobudur, travel by riverboat deep into the Borneo jungle to watch wild orangutans and visit Rinca Island, where komodo dragons roam. We’ll also learn about the unique funeral rituals of the Tana Toraja people on the island of Sulawesi. That’s a whole lot of Indonesia in under two weeks. Join us! BRE T T S.
