Accommodation: Barceló Torre de Madrid (B) (Deluxe) Barcelo Torre de Madrid Day 8: Sat, Apr 24 2021 Madrid Departing with a private guide and driver, enjoy a halfday tour that will take you through Madrid's oldest quarters, tracing the legacy of the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties. Admire the many churches, convents, inns, palaces, theaters, narrow medieval streets and traditional shops, all steeped in history that no visitor should miss. Discover the city’s key sights like the Habsburgera Puerta del Sol, renowned as the bustling heart of Madrid since the 17th century, and Plaza Mayor, a porticoed square that will take you back to the times of swashbuckling swordsmen and medieval rogues. Scamper through the Arco and Calle Cuchilleros where you'll find centuriesold taverns dug into caves under the square, and the Plaza de la Villa with excellent examples of Spanish architecture. Marvel at the impressive Bourbonera Royal Palace, the largest in Western Europe, as well as the Teatro Real (Madrid’s opera house), the Prado Museum, the triumphal arch, and the city’s beautiful fountains of Neptuno and Cibeles. Madrid As the capital of the Spanish Empire, Madrid was once the richest and most powerful city in the world. That kind of past leaves a big impression on a place and in Madrid it is easy to see. For palaces, museums and concerts it is up there with the best in the world. The museums of the "golden triangle" alone, namely the Prado, Reina Sofia and ThyssenBornemisza, feature a stunning array of paintings ranging from Old Masters to modern surrealists all housed in some of Spain's most magnificent buildings. And the rest of the city is just as rich in cultural icons and architecture. But Madrid is also a city for going out and partying. The area of Malasana is packed with bars and restaurants that stay open until dawn and rival anything Barcelona has to offer. Meet your private driver for a transfer to your flamenco venue by private vehicle in total comfort. Without a doubt, we are facing the best flamenco tablao in Spain. The quality of its artists has always been the focus of this legendary place during its more than 50 years of life. Now, its owners embark on a new quest: to become the best restaurant in town, hence they can count in their kitchens with a young chef, already recognized with a Michelin star in his previous restaurant. The experience we propose is therefore double, or rather, triple: on the one hand, enjoy a surprising and wonderful tasting menu with the best creations of the young chef; On the other hand, we are going to pair the menu with the best wines in Spain: you can choose between conventional wines, or even better, with sherry wines, of which the owner of the tablao is an expert, with more than 400 references in his premises. And finally, you will enjoy the flamenco show from a prime table. Day 9: Sun, Apr 25 2021 Madrid Setting out on foot for three hours with a private guide, you'll visit the bars that are innovating and leaving a mark on Madrid’s tapas scene. Whether it be through using new techniques, incorporating new or forgotten ingredients, or by taking inspiration in cuisines from around the world, the gastronomic culture in Spain, and Madrid, is always evolving. You'll visit three restaurants, and within each you'll be treated to a drink and tapas. The restaurants included in this tour are aiming for the unexpected; they are looking to surprise their guest by presenting a classical dish and putting their own twist to it. Dig in! Carved on the slopes, just opposite Régua, this charming boutique hotel captivates anyone due to its stunning views over the river and the vineyards. In the 38 rooms, spread across the hotel’s five floors, the focus is on comfort and a contemporary decor. The landscape and silence invite you to enjoy the panoramic balcony, though. The restaurant ‘Inevitável’, which is regionally inspired and signed by chef Francisco Ferreira, enchants us due to its rich and traditional flavors, as well as its terrace, which challenges you to an outdoor meal. In turn, the Satsanga Spa, besides its indoor pool and outdoor Jacuzzi, is surprising due to its fusion with nature, as its walls literally interlace with stone, creating a tranquil and relaxing environment. It is the combination of all those services that make this hotel in Douro absolutely unique.
