WELLINGTON HEALTH CARE ALLIANCE Common Strategic Directions 2021-2023 VISION MISSION VALUES Your Together, Compassionate, health matters advancing exceptional Respectful, Innovative, care and wellness Professional and Collaborative GROVES MEMORIAL COMMUNITY HOSPITAL | LOUISE MARSHALL HOSPITAL | PALMERSTON & DISTRICT HOSPITAL
Welcome In 2015 the Board of Directors for Groves Memorial Community Hospital (GMCH) and North Wellington Health Care (NWHC) worked with the Waterloo Wellington LHIN to strengthen the Wellington Health Care Alliance (WHCA) relationship. This work culminated in the creation of a new Joint Executive Committee (JEC) in February 2016. The JEC has equal representation from both Boards and has delegated authority to make decisions on behalf of both Boards (except for current redevelopment and professional staff matters which remains the purview of the local hospital Boards). In 2017, the Boards came together with various stakeholder groups, to create common Vision, Mission, and Values for both hospital corporations. These are: Vision – Your Health Matters Mission – Together, advancing exceptional care and wellness Values – We are compassionate, respectful, innovative, professional and collaborative Our Vision Mission and Values reflect not only what is important to us as we serve our local communities, but also how we go about our day to day work and decision-making. In late 2020, the JEC conducted a comprehensive review of our strategic directions and goals (2018-2021), and updated those to guide our efforts for the next 3 years from 2021-2023. Approved in early 2021, the updated WHCA joint strategic plan supports our continued efforts in patient and staff safety, supports our staff and physicians in their response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and outlines our participation in government efforts of health system reform, through the establishment of Ontario Health Teams. Together, with focused attention to our plan, we will continue to provide high quality health care at three vibrant hospital sites in Fergus, Mount Forest and Palmerston, Ontario. Thank you to all for your input and work in developing this plan. Dale Small Jackie Ranahan Chair, Joint Executive Committee Vice Chair, Joint Executive Committee Board Chair Board Chair NWHC GMCH
