GETTING TO UCD The Belfield campus is located 4km from Dublin city centre on the N11. There are many travel options from various parts of the city, the local suburbs and indeed the whole country. It’s the perfect spot to grab a cheap coffee or a meal deal for lunch or that pen or calculator you forgot to bring with you! All profits in the SU shops go back to the SU to help fund more services and supports for students. RUN FOR CLASS REP You can get your student life off to a quick start by running to be a class rep in the SU. It is a great way to meet new people and to help your fellow classmates out with any issues they may have, organise parties and class hoodies. You will have plenty of support and training. It’s also great to have on your CV and lots of fun. Class Reps meet every two weeks during term to discuss student issues and to shape the policy of the SU. UNION COUNCIL Union Council is the governing body of UCD Students’ Union. Members of Council include Class Reps, Campaign Coordinators, Entertainments Forum, College Officers and Sabbati- cal Officers. They meet every 2 weeks during the academic term. Full-time and part-time Officers give reports to Council on what they have been working on and other members can ask them questions about it. Council also formulates policy and mandates, to steer the work of Union and it’s elected Officers. If there is anything you would like your SU to work on or campaign for this year, why not run for class rep or ask your class rep to bring a mandate to Council!
