WELCOME LODGING GUESTS Dear Guest, Welcome to the Indian Hills Inn in Midwest City Oklahoma. Our base is named after Major General Clarence L. Tinker, a one-eighth Osage from Pawhuska, Oklahoma. General Tinker was the first American general to die in World War II; his body never recovered. He received the Soldier’s Medal in 1931 and, posthumously, the Distinguished Service Medal. General Tinker was also rated a Command Pilot, Combat Observer and Aerial Observer. On October 14, 1942, the Oklahoma Air City Depot was named Tinker Field in honor of General Tinker. On January 13, 1948, Tinker Air Field received its modern name, Tinker Air Force Base. We sincerely hope your stay with us will be an enjoyable and comfortable one. With our mild climate, any time of year is a good time to explore what Oklahoma City has to offer. We are centrally located to numerous local attractions and museums such as Bricktown, the Myriad Botanical Gardens and the Oklahoma City National Memorial just to name a few. The Guest Directory has additional information on sights and historical points of interest. It also contains valuable base and local information, our Force Support Squadron activities’ operating hours, what to do in an emergency, and how to operate equipment in your room. We ask that you do not remove pages from this directory, please. If there is anything you would like a copy of, please ask the receptionist at the front desk and he/she will be happy to provide it to you. Our vision is to become the Air Forces Premier Inn with world-class facilities and service for all. We constantly monitor our rooms for safety, cleanliness, comfort and convenience. In case something isn’t quite right or equipment malfunctions after you check-in, please fill out a maintenance slip and present it to our housekeeping staff or please call the front desk. Our staff is at your service and will respond quickly. If it is beyond their scope, they will refer it to our Base Civil Engineers. If any aspect of your stay is less than you’d hoped for, please call me at 405-734-5563. We want to correct discrepancies as they occur, so that you may fully enjoy the rest of your stay. We would really appreciate you taking the time to fill out a customer comment form. We welcome your suggestions to improve our service and your positive feedback increases staff pride and morale. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. We wish you a safe journey and a speedy return to Indian Hills Inn. Perry N. Hicks PERRY N. HICKS, NF-IV General Manager www.$nkerliving.com

TORNADO INFORMATION ❖ Before a storm threatens, identify the safest areas to take cover. o Pick a place where personnel can gather if a tornado is spotted. It could be a basement, center hallway, bathroom, or closet on the lowest floor, away from exterior walls and windows. o If you are in a 2-3 (or higher) story building, you may not have time to get to the lowest floor, if this is the case, pick a place in the hallway in the center of the building. o Keep this place uncluttered. o Brief all personnel on what to do if a tornado is spotted. o Post tornado instruction where everyone can easily read them. o Review these procedures annually. ❖ Stay tuned for storm warnings. o Listen to local radio and TV stations for updates. o Monitor your unit’s radio nets for emergency messages. o Pay attention to the Base Warning and Alerting System. o Know the difference between a Tornado Watch and Tornado Warning: www.$nkerliving.com
▪ Tornado Watch: Climatic conditions are favorable for the formation of a tornado. ▪ Tornado Warning: A tornado has been sighted by visual or radar observation. TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY. o When a Watch or Warning has been implemented, pass this information to all personnel, by any means available, immediately. ❖ When a Tornado Watch is issued: o Listen to local radio and TV stations for updates. o Be alert to changing weather conditions. Blowing debris of the sound of a tornado approaching, may be your warning. o Pre-stock first aid kits, flashlights, chemical lights, and other emergency supplies in your tornado shelter, if possible. Blankets or sleeping bags can provide additional protection. o If outdoors, consider terminating non-essential activities, and pre-plan where you will seek shelter if lightning or a tornado threatens. ❖ When a Tornado Warning is issued: o A long, steady, 3-5 minute tone on the base sirens indicates that a tornado has been sighted. o TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY! o If you are outside, rush to a nearby building or lie flat in a ditch or low-lying area. o If you are in a car or mobile home, get out immediately and head for safety. DO NOT TAKE SHELTER IN A VEHICLE. ❖ When the “All Clear” is announced on the Base Warning and Alerting System: o Once the danger has passed, carefully exit the shelter area, perform damage assessment. o Account for all personnel, perform first aid, and seek medical attention if necessary. Report all fires or casualties. o Beware of broken glass, collapsed or weakened structures, downed utility lines, broken gas lines, etc. Stay out of damaged area. o Report all damage to your Unit Control Center and/or the CE Emergency Operations Center.
