And see, I am sending upon you what my Father promised; so stay here in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.’ -Luke 24:49 Kindred in Christ, Though the weather has been, in turns, warm with sun and cold with rain, we move inexorably towards warmer days and summer months. With the changing of seasons, comes the changing of activities as well. Some things will end and others will begin. As a church, we strive to remain active while still encouraging rest and renewal. 16.Submitting Announcements: To get your announcement in this weekly notice, we ask that you submit them to the office with a small paragraph of detail by Wednesday of the week you want your announcement to run. Also include the number of weeks that you want this announcement in the weekly notice. Send all announcements to Leslie at office@quc.ca In the centering verse of this mail-out, we are reminded of Christ’s care and support of his disciples. Even in his leaving them, he did not leave them alone or unequipped. He promised that the Holy Spirit would move among them, guide them, show them the way. We, the descendants of those first followers are also the inheritors of that Spirit, and so we are called to listen to it’s whispers, follow it’s movements, and seek its power in our lives. As we move into the weekend, and the midway of May, carry with you this prayer for guidance. Let us pray: Hear us, O Christ, when we are lost, and guide us home; when we are weak, and give us strength; when we are lonely, and embrace us; when we have fallen, and life us up. You are our guide, our strength, our hope, and our companion, and for this we are thankful. AMEN Yours in Christ, Rev. Richard Bowley
