Civil Ceremonies & Receptions Civil Ceremonies & Receptions Welcome... Wycombe Museum is located in Castle Hill House and Gardens. A hidden gem in a calm oasis, a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. Popularly known as the Chair Museum, Wycombe Museum is one of High Wycombe’s most unusual wedding venues. The Museum has focused over the years on local craftsmanship, specifically the famous furniture and chair industry of the region, alongside an impressive art collection and the local history. The site is a scheduled Ancient Monument, and the House is a Grade II listed building, The oldest parts dating from the late 1600s. Archaeological discoveries indicate that the site has been lived on since the early Middle Ages, originally as a Saxon Farm. An Anglo-Saxon burial site was discovered in 1901 near the main gate. Wycombe Museum is licensed to hold Marriage and Civil Partnership Ceremonies. You may add own decorations or book one of our talented local wedding stylists to help create a style you will love; from vintage, festival or boho to classic elegance. No decorations are included in the prices quoted.

The Museum building The Museum building Within the museum the entrance hall, the gallery and the cafe lounge bar all offer beautiful views of the garden. THE ENTRANCE HALL The entrance hall overlooks the front garden. A few steps from the top lawn, it makes an ideal place to hold the legal part of garden ceremonies as a licensed space. 6 T H E C A F É LO U N G E B A R On the ground floor, the Café lounge is a light and airy room, with sash windows overlooking the front garden. It has neutral décor with an original fireplace and chair print wallpaper to one wall. It can be used as a ceremony room, café lounge bar or dining room. Maximum capacity 40 for licensed ceremonies, 20 for dining T H E C H I LT E R N S G A L L E R Y The gallery is situated on the ground floor of the museum building, with sash windows overlooking the front garden. With an original fireplace the room is tastefully decorated with art nouveau wallpaper and matching olive-coloured walls. The right-hand wall has a large Victorian map of the area. Mobile bars are welcome to be set up next to the outbuildings or in the front garden between May-Oct We ask that bars use plastic glasses in the grounds. 9

Hire of traditional marquee with flooring and dance floor, tipi & catering tents Tea and coffee stations DJ & entertainment, string quartet, singing waiters, magician, live band, opera singer, strolling band, local guitarist. Hire large garden games Children’s entertainment-bouncy castles, film tent, large film screen Museum cafe staff to serve & clear away Cleaning crew for next day Some of theses are offered at the museum and others are provided by external suppliers, so please ask for further details. S U P P L I E R S I N F O R M AT I O N You are welcome to bring in your own suppliers. We ask they provide us with the relevant insurance and documents in advance. Hot/cold water and an external power supply is available. Suppliers may set up on the front grass during the summer season or the top car park.
How to find us By car There is a small amount of on-site parking. Spaces will be made available for your suppliers and up to 4 disabled spaces. Additional parking is available on nearby roads (meter parking) and town centre car parks. We recommend organising taxi mini-buses for groups from the local area & hotels. These can drop off and collect guests at the museum gates. By train: High Wycombe is 23 minutes by train from London Marylebone and the station is just a few minutes’ walk from the Museum.
