O U R B RO CHURE G U I D E TO U SING O U R B RO C HURE If you are new to yachting You have a big decision to make – is it the deck, engineering or the interior department that you are aiming to work for? Consider your options carefully and study the career progression charts on pages 14, 34 and 50. Be careful not to spend a lot of money upfront unnecessarily for month-long courses leading to certificates that you might not (yet) need. Also, at this TOP TIPS i stage, you do not know if yachting is for you in the long term and, whilst it is a very rewarding career choice, there are some challenges, especially in the first few years. Successful assessment of competency is necessary before issue of a simulator course certificate. A pre-course workbook is available for completion prior to attending the course, which is highly recommended.
