Accessible Voting Returning Your Ballot

Drop boxes are the best way to ensure your ballot will

Your Signature Matters!
• Remember to sign and date the declaration on the return envelope with your name printed on it.
• We compare the signature on your ballot envelope with the signature on your voter registration. This
is how we know the ballot comes from you.
• How do we get your signature? If you register or update using a paper registration form, we capture
the signature on the form. If you register or update through the Department of Motor Vehicles, we
capture the signature from your Washington State Driver License.
Top 4 Reasons a Ballot Cannot Be Counted
• Ballot received with a late postmark.
• Signature on the ballot envelope doesn't match the signature we have on file.*
• Ballot envelope is not signed.*
• Someone other than the voter has signed the envelope for them.*
*If a ballot is not signed or the signature doesn't match the signature on your voter registration,
the voter is mailed a form to correct the issue.

Registering to Vote
You can register to vote through Election Day!
You can now register to vote, update your address, or make other updates to your voter
registration in person at Douglas County Courthouse in Waterville through 8 p.m. on
Election Day. But why wait. Register or update your registration at www.votewa.gov.
Registering to vote through the Department of Licensing
or Health Benefit Exchange just got easier!
VOTER INFORMATION
If you are getting an enhanced driver license, you will now be automatically registered
to vote or have your address updated. Don’t wish to register? You can opt out. If you are
getting a non-enhanced license, you will still be asked if you would like to register to vote.
You can now register to vote while signing up for or renewing your health insurance
through the Health Benefit Exchange.
Pre-registration for teens
16 and 17 year olds may now pre-register to vote. Registrations submitted online, by mail,
or in person will be assigned a ‘pending’ status until they turn 18.
If the registrant turns 18 before the next scheduled Election Day, they will automatically
be mailed a ballot at their registered address.

Who Can Register
To register to vote in Washington, you must be:
• A citizen of the United States;
• A legal resident of Washington State;
• At least 18 years old by Election Day;
• Not disqualified from voting due to a court order; and
VOTER INFORMATION
• Not under Department of Corrections supervision for a Washington State felony
conviction.
Keep Your Voter Registration Current
Update your registration if you have moved or changed your name, or if your signature
has changed. Simply update your information online or submit a new registration form by
October 25 for the General Election or visit us in person through November 2, Election
Day.

I work as a dry land wheat grower in upper Douglas County. The
Loebsack farm has been in the family for four generations. I attended
and graduated from Waterville High School. Later I graduated
from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Business
Administration and a minor in Economics. My wife, Marjorie, and
I have five grown children, and we served as foster parents for 18
years at our home in Lamoine. I remain seasonally involved with the
Badger Mountain Ski Area, and I am currently volunteering with the
Waterville Young Life Club.

HOSPITAL DISTRICT Douglas County Hospital District #2 (Ambulance Services) is
ONE YEAR EXCESS LEVY placing a one-year excess maintenance and operations levy on the
November 2021 General Election ballot.

years, I bring a unique perspective to the School Board. During my 205 Fairview
career I taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and
I have extensive experience with special programs, both as a teacher Bridgeport, WA 98813
and as a director. I retired from full-time teaching in 2017, and by
the end of my career I was teaching high school aged children of my
former elementary students. After retirement I substituted until the
COVID outbreak. Now I would like to continue my involvement
with education through a position on the School Board. As a former
teacher I have a good concept of the needs of students and teachers.
As a 48-year resident of Bridgeport, I also know the needs of the
community and I am bilingual (English-Spanish). What is best for
children and their education is my only agenda. I will approach this
School board position with an open mind and a willingness to listen
to all points of view in order to make the best decisions for children.
