This is a fine example of a Gibson Les Paul
Custom ’68 Authentic Model. It is a Gibson
Custom Shop Guitar as evidenced by the
Custom Art and Historic Case and Custom
Shop Certification. The guitar is of Mahogany
Construction with a maple cap and Ebony
Fingerboard with Mother of Pearl block fret
markers. All parts appear original and the tuners
and bright-work is gold plated and aged. This
guitar’s background has been checked with Gibson
Guitar’s European Office in the Netherlands.

The heavy aged finish is consistent with Gibson
Guitars of the early 2000’s and takes a purple over
white Nitro Cellulose finish with heavy aging to
the bare wood to the back and “fire damage” to
the front. This is an especially unique finish for
this instrument – most of these instruments are
finished in black with gold parts so this is a marked
deviation by Gibson’s Custom Shop luthiers.

This is an especially striking and fine instrument
    in excellent condition.
    £2,300-£2,600

This is a particularly fine guitar manufactured in

parts are original. The guitar would not have come
with a pick-guard and this is consistent with the
original player’s instrument on which it is based.

Condition wise the guitar is 8/10 excellent for a

6 marking around the pickup selector toggle switch
consistent with age and light use consistent with a
                                             well-cared for instrument.

This is a guitar that would be of interest to Gibson

colour and this suggests a custom-built to order
bespoke instrument. This is borne out by the fact
that the Custom Shop certificate has been sent
