1 An all original 1970 Gibson ES335 TD Model in very condition with an attractive slightly faded Cherry Sunburst finish and chrome hardware and brightwork. The guitar has the purple and black triangle motif inner label and “Made in USA’ stamp to the back of the headstock. This instrument is in very good condition for its age with light marking to the pick-guard and otherwise fine throughout. 2 This is an exceptionally rare Custom Built Gibson Acoustic Guitar – Modelled on the Southern Jumbo True Vintage. It is a one off custom built Gibson SJ. This Custom Built Guitar from the Bozeman Montana Production facility has Brazilian Rosewood back and Sides and an Adirondack Spruce Top. The guitar has a Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Trapezoid Markers and an Ebony faced headstock with Mother of Pearl Inlay Gibson Logo. 3 This is a fine example of a Gibson Les Paul Custom ’68 Authentic Model. It is a Gibson Custom Shop Guitar as evidenced by the Custom Art and Historic Case and Custom Shop Certification. The guitar is of Mahogany Construction with a maple cap and Ebony Fingerboard with Mother of Pearl block fret markers. All parts appear original and the tuners and bright-work is gold plated and aged. This guitar’s background has been checked with Gibson Guitar’s European Office in the Netherlands. The heavy aged finish is consistent with Gibson Guitars of the early 2000’s and takes a purple over white Nitro Cellulose finish with heavy aging to the bare wood to the back and “fire damage” to the front. This is an especially unique finish for this instrument – most of these instruments are finished in black with gold parts so this is a marked deviation by Gibson’s Custom Shop luthiers. 4 A Gibson Les Paul Custom 68 Authentic Model made in the Nashville Custom Shop in 2002. The finish is referred to as Custom Burnt or “”Acid Rain””. It has Mahogany Neck and Body with a Mahogany cap visible through the finish. Condition wise the guitar, given its aged finish is in very good condition with little play-wear or fret-wear. There is some light wear and marking to the case – generally this guitar is in very good + 8/10 condition. The guitar comes with paperwork and certification NB This Instrument has been additionally identified and verified by Gibson Guitars Europe. The unique Custom Burnt finishes and the fact it is a Gibson Custom Shop guitar means it will be of interest to collectors. Gibson have recently begun to produce the 68 Authentic Custom Shop model again with a retail price point of £6999. 5 This is a Limited Edition model that was made in very small batches of 25 – only 200 were produced in the initial production run in this finish dubbed “Bonamassa Burst”. This is number 159. This Gibson Guitar and is in very good condition throughout with original Custom and Historic Case and Certification and very light play wear. Condition is 9/10 The Gibson Joe Bonamassa Ltd Edition VOS Les Paul uses a 2-piece chambered weight relieved Mahogany body with a carved Maple top, A 1 piece Mahogany neck and a 22 fret Rosewood fretboard with Acrylic Trapezoidal fret inlays. The headstock has an Ebony overlay with the standard gold Gibson logo and the traditional Les Paul “”Open Book”” shaped headstock. The bell-shaped truss rod cover bears the etched “”Bonamassa”” name. This is an especially fine limited production run Custom Shop Gibson guitar with very light play wear. 6 This is a fine example of a Gibson Custom Art and Historic, Custom Shop VOS Reissue of Gibson Les Paul’s 1957 Les Paul Custom Model in a Faded (aka “”Washed””) Cherry Finish. This guitar has an all Mahogany Construction with Carved Cap and Ebony Fingerboard with Gold Plated Parts and Brightwork. The front of headstock is holly wood and the fret markers and headstock detailing are Mother of Pearl. The guitar comes with its Light Brown Non Shroud Gibson Case and is the correct case for that year. There is evidence of some wear to the case outer consistent with age and use. There is one very small chip in the binding on the rear upper middle of the guitar otherwise this is relatively unmarked. Condition good - very good throughout. The guitar comes with Gibson Custom and Historic Certification and paperwork and warranty card stored in the inner case compartment. £2,250-£2,350 7 This is a particularly fine guitar manufactured in the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville Tennessee in 2003. This guitar’s serial number identifies it as part of the first production run of 100 instruments. This guitar is one of a limited production run of 1200 manufactured between 2003 and 2010. It comes with a Gibson Custom Art Historic Hard-case and Custom shop Certificate of Authenticity. The finish is Dark Tobacco Sunburst and the Guitar has a Piezo Pickup fitted to the bridge, switching for which is facilitated by the microswitch between the standard control knobs. Construction is neck through body and the body is mahogany with a maple top and Indian rosewood finger board. The front of the headstock is Holly wood with Gibson logo and the “Slash” motif is etched into the bell shaped truss rod cover. The Serial Number is ink impressed to the back of the headstock. The guitar comes with its original Chrome Stop tailpiece, chrome ABR1 bridge and LP standard “tulip” style tuners by Kluson. All parts are original. The guitar would not have come with a pick-guard and this is consistent with the original player’s instrument on which it is based. Condition wise the guitar is 8/10 excellent for a 15 year old instrument. There is very little play wear on the frets or fingerboard and very light 6 marking around the pickup selector toggle switch consistent with age and light use consistent with a well-cared for instrument. 8 A very rare Gibson endorsee Guitar. It is number 3/50. The finish is aged and signed by Kirk Hamnett of Metallica and is one of only 50 with this configuration from a limited edition production run of 150. The guitar has a red fur-lined Custom Shop case and includes a leather-bound Certificate of Authenticity, and related care and adjustment literature. This is a very rare limited edition Gibson guitar which is sure to attract buyer interest in the market place. 9 This is a rare Gibson Artiste Signature model guitar that has recently appreciated in value due to the artiste’s untimely death. These are a particularly rare guitar in the U.K. and European market as most of the production run was supplied to US and Canadian retailers and direct to collectors. This guitar is finished in the Matt Black Nitro Cellulose finish but does not have the Bigsby Vibrato consistent with later Olive Green models. Its serial number, Customer and Historic LE Number and date of manufacture verifies it as part of the original initial 250 production run. The case contains the certification and paperwork and the outer of the case on the first 250 were signed by the artiste. 10 A Gibson Les Paul Custom Zakk Wylde made in the Nashville Custom Shop in 2002. It is a low serial number guitar from the first 500 production run. The finish is Black over Cream Bullseye. It has a Mahogany Maple Mahogany ‘layer cake’ Body with a Maple cap. The Neck is Maple consistent with early 1970’s Gibson Les Paul Customs and the artiste’s own instrument. Knots are left in the wood consistent with the artiste’s own guitar and the neck has an Ebony Fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Fretboard markers. Hardware is Gold Plated and the Pickups are EMG models. Condition wise this guitar is in good + condition. There is light play wear and a lengthy 4cm scratch to the rear lower of the body. This is a low serial number (first 500) early production run guitar that has now been discontinued by Gibson so values have begun to appreciate on that basis. NB This Instrument has been additionally identified and verified by Gibson Guitars Europe in the Netherlands. £2,400-£2,500

11 A particularly fine Gibson L4 Archtop Model produced in 2010 in the Nashville Custom Shop The guitar has a Carved Archtop Construction with Carved Mahogany Back and Sides. The bound fingerboard is Ebony with Trapeziod Mother of Pearl fret markers. All parts are original and all pickup covers and brightwork are 18ct Gold Plated. This guitar comes with its Custom and Historic Black Case and has all paperwork and Gibson Custom Shop certification. 12 This is an excellent example of a very rare Gibson Super 400 Thinline manufactured in the Nashville Custom Shop in 2002. This Thinline Super 400 with Single Pickup is an especially rare unique instrument. We have seen no instruments with this pickup configuration and colour and this suggests a custom-built to order bespoke instrument. This is borne out by the fact that the Custom Shop certificate has been sent separately by Gibson. Condition wise this is a near-mint un-played investment grade instrument that will be of particular interest to Gibson specialists and collectors. £6,500-£7,000 *See page 1 for information regarding fees 19
13 An especially fine Gibson Custom and Historic L5 CES Model in Red with original case and certification. It has a 17” archtop carved body with a spruce top and maple back and sides with multi black and white binding. The hardware is gold plated with L5 engraved tailpiece and Gibson 57 Model Humbucking Pickups. The headstock is the classic Gibson Archtop style with the “Grecian Urn” motif and Gibson logo in Mother of Pearl inlay. The tuners are Schaller M6. The guitar comes with original Gibson Archtop Custom and Historic Case and all Custom Shop Case Appointments including the numbered Custom Shop Certificate. This is a sought after instrument with its association with players as diverse as Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery and Keith Richards. 16 This is a Gibson Custom Art and Historic Class 5 Model Les Paul with an amber highly flamed maple top, 1960’s profile neck and weight relieved body. The guitar comes with case and certification. 19 This is a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Studio in Cherry Red. The pickups have been changed for Bare Knuckle pickups. This has been done professionally. The Black Tuners are not standard and replace the Chrome Grover type tuners the guitar should have. Other parts have been changed to black and mismatched with some of the gold-plated parts left. Condition wise this guitar is in average condition with play wear to fingerboard and body. The frets are in good condition suggesting a recent refret,. An early 2000’s Stratocaster with an Ash Body and Maple Neck with Maple Fingerboard. The non-standard elements are gold plated parts, abalone fret markers, non- standard metallic headstock decal, locking Sperzel tuners and a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Neck Plate. The case contains all relevant paper work, warranty card etc . Condition wise this is in good condition 6.5-7/10.. 27 A 1966 Fender Mustang from the Estate of the Late John Renbourn. A modified Fender Mustang with changed Stratocaster Type Pickups and Jaguar Type Bridge - otherwise all original. 28 A 1989 Fender Strat Plus Guitar with apparently all original parts including roller nut, Sperzels, and Lace Sensor Pickups. 29 A 2011 Taylor T5 Custom Model II hybrid guitar manufactured in the Taylor plant in California. This is a particularly well presented Taylor T5 Custom model series II, with a Koa Top. These were a hybrid guitar having both acoustic and electric tonal elements built in. The top is figured book-matched Koa and is especially attractive, Koa being an increasingly scarce and expensive wood. The back and sides are Mahogany consistent with all Taylor Guitars. The Fingerboard is Ebony and the hardware is gold plated. Condition wise this guitar is very good + 8.5/10 with very light play wear and only one small scuff to the case outer. £900-£100 38 *See page 1 for information regarding fees
30 This is a very well presented Taylor 12 string guitar with very little play wear in its original case. The 750 range is of the higher value end of the Taylor model portfolio and this is a superb example. These are increasingly rare guitars the 754 having the cutaway as opposed to the more common none cutaway 755 body shape. All parts are original and gold plated. The guitar having an Engelmann spruce top and rosewood back and sides has a forceful yet mellow tone. 49 A highly figured and decorated Peter Abnett Luthier Built Parlour Guitar in original hard case. Peter Abnett retired from guitar making in 2015 and his instruments are becoming sought after. Although famous mainly for perfecting Irish folk instruments, mandolins and bozoukis, Abnett guitars do not come to auction often. This is an especially well presented guitar with figured decoration on the headstock and around the soundhole rosette.
