Upcoming Deadlines Fellowship Attorney, Regulatory Assistance for Abortion Providers February 12, 2021 This is a 16-month fellowship based in Washington D.C. with the Regulatory Assistance for Abortion Providers (RAAP). RAAP provides free legal compliance assistance to abortion providers in the U.S. The RAAP Fellowship Attorney is intended to offer a recent law school graduate the opportunity to develop expertise in the fields of regulatory compliance and reproductive healthcare. The RAAP team is committed to the professional development and mentoring of the Fellowship Attorney and will provide external healthcare compliance training. Mysun Foundation Clinical Fellow, UC Irvine February 22, 2021 The University of California, Irvine School of Law is seeking a Mysun Foundation Clinical Fellow in its Environmental Law Clinic. The fellowship is designed to provide an attorney who has a strong interest in environmental justice with mentorship, to help launch a career in clinical teaching, or serve as a bridge to a career in public interest environmental justice work. Hueston Hennigan Fellowship Program February 28, 2021 This is an exciting new two-year fellowship opportunity, aimed at developing the next generation of leaders in public service through the Hueston Hennigan Social Justice Foundation (SJLF). SJLF will select five fellows, one from YLS and one from each of four other law schools. Fellows will work with the legal team at SJLF and with law firm mentors. They will help developed cases, receive top caliber training in trial and appellate advocacy, and gain meaningful hands-on trial experience litigating impact cases with the resources of a top law firm. SJLF is looking for individuals who are committed to effecting lasting social justice and are seeking to develop trial advocacy skills in pursuit of equality and equity. Public Interest and Government Fellowship March 26, 2021 This is a one-year fellowship available for 2021 law student graduates interested in beginning their careers in public interest law, human rights, or government service. Fellows are expected to partner with a qualified host organization or government agency to provide meaningful legal work and supervision. Fair Elections Center Legal Fellowship March 28, 2021 The Fair Elections Center is seeking applicants for a legal one-year fellowship to work on cutting-edge voting rights litigation. Applicants should have a background or strong interest in civil rights, voting rights, and/or election reform. The fellow’s duties will include conducting in-depth legal research for pending and future litigation, conducting the necessary factual investigation and plaintiff search to initiate cases, drafting legal memoranda, motions, briefs, and discovery, drafting open records requests, investigating relevant legal, rulemaking, or legislative proceedings for legal violations, and interacting with election reform organizations and key election officials. The Hawaii Civil Beat Law Center Fellowship April 12, 2021 This is a one-year, Honolulu, Hawaii-based fellowship with an organization dedicated to developing solutions that promote transparency and responsiveness in government. The fellow reports to the Executive Director and will participate fully in the Law Center’s advocacy efforts. The Law Center’s efforts range widely and have included informal drafting assistance and advice for requesters; educational lectures, presentations, and materials; representing clients in litigation; guidance and concern letters to government agencies; and occasional lobbying. New York State Senate Weibe Public Service Fellowship April 30, 2021 This Albany-based, one-year fellowship, is with the Majority Counsel/Program Services Office of the New York State Senate. The recipient of the Richard A. Wiebe Public Service Fellowship will have direct access to state government and the legislative process and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of public policy areas of interest to the State Senate. The Wikimedia/YLS Initiative on Intermediaries and Information Fellowship Rolling until Filled The Wikimedia/YLS Initiative on Intermediaries and Information (WIII), an initiative of the Information Society Project (ISP) at YLS, is accepting applications for a WIII Fellow. The ISP fellow will monitor ongoing and upcoming legislative and regulatory developments which engage intermediary rights, liabilities and responsibilities as well as produce white papers or academic articles with policy recommendations and organize educational events at the law school. The WIII fellow will also supervise pro bono students and summer researchers, coordinate their contributions to the work of the WIII program, and act as a liaison between ISP and the Wikimedia Foundation. Koskoff Trial Advocacy Fellowship Rolling Basis until April 30, 2021 This is a one-year fellowship with plaintiff-side law firm Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder. The Trial Advocacy Fellow will work on cases involving wrongful death and other serious tort matters, as well as equal rights, individual liberty, and access to justice. Fellows are also given the opportunity to work on legal projects of their choice. Bredhoff & Kaiser Law Fellowship Posted October 22, Rolling Deadline with preference for applications received before March 1st This is a one-year with a public interest law firm in Washington D.C. The law fellow will participate in cases as an active member of the team and take on real and increasing responsibility for factual and legal case development, including drafting substantive briefs and examining witnesses in evidentiary hearings.
