How to get a resource
Citation Management Tools • Import citations from databases, websites, and library catalogues • Manage, categorize, and organize citations • Create and format bibliographies in most output styles (e.g., AMA, MLA, Chicago etc.) • Attach pdfs, images, etc. to citations in your collection • Write notes and annotate pdfs attached to your citations • c@m.search works very well with Zotero
Example from c@m.search Zotero
Free-to-use Citation Management Tools • Zotero • Endnote Web • Mendeley http://guides.lib.unc.edu/comparecitationmanagers
Comparison between some CMT • Reasons to choose Zotero • It is the easiest method to gather citation records for non-PDF and PDF content. Zotero's single-click capture works with more databases, catalogs, and websites than Mendeley's Web Importer. You can also enable the retrieval of PDF metadata, which allows you to create citation records just from dragging a PDF into Zotero. Zotero is open source. • Reasons to choose Mendeley • Your research content is primarily contained in PDF files: Mendeley has an integrated PDF viewer and can create citation records just from importing a PDF file. Mendeley.org has a strong website and community platform. • Reasons to choose EndNote basic • Create an online account to search, save and use your research sources; Search the 5 most popular databases of your choice; Save and organize the references you find (up to 50,000); Integrate with Microsoft® Word to properly cite and format your paper; Choose from the 21 most popular bibliography formats.
