Digital Modeling 3D digital modeling is my preferred design medium. To me, it merges the concepts & design strategies that I’ve learned as an Architecture & Graphic Design student. It started off as a tool to showcase my projects, with Architectural Renders and Graphic Design Mock-ups. Later in my college career, my projects became a tool to showcase my 3D Modeling. ___8 9 ___

Digital Modeling • General Modeling R.O.D.R.160 • (s.) 2 of 3 General Modeling & Character Design The screen Header Programs Used R.O.D.R.160 is a character model that was created for a video game. For this project, I was tasked with designing a Description robot based off of a preliminary sketch. This detailed version will be used to create renders for promotional material, menus, & loading screens. While modeling R.O.D.R.160, I focused on the connection Arm Assembly Elevation Sketches between parts, the layering of parts, & the materials used. Through this process, I was able to develop it’s hyper- realistic style. The jet flame was created using Blender’s new ‘Manta Flow’ fluid simulating framework. All of the modeling, decals and the screen animation were created from scratch using Blender, Adobe Illustrator & Adobe After Effects. Project one Textured Wire Frame These animations began as a personal project, but later evolved into a commission piece. The original goal of this project was to practice precision-modeling & animation. I began by modeling a vaporizer, giving it as much detail as possible. Once I completed the model, I wanted to try my hand at animating. landscape model I used the models from before and created a simple animation in a perplexing/surreal style. The intention was to showcase my work in an unorthodox way. Description I posted the video on Reddit.com, where it gained some attention and was eventually recognized by an employee at Honey Stick, the Fort Lauderdale based company that created the vaporizer in my animation. They asked to colaborate on a new animation for another product called the ‘HRB Turbo.’ ELf ad. Closeup w/ Birds HRBTurboAd. Project Two Description YouTube This animation was created as a social media advertisement for a dry herb vaporizer by Honey Stick. I was told that it could be in a similar style as the first animation. The Frame from Video Ad. concept behind this style is that the perplexing scenes grab the viewers attention long enough to showcase the product. The naturalistic motifs emerged from the product, being a dry herb (HRB) vaporizer. The dry herb feature is the biggest difference when compaired to the rest of their product line- up. The jet sound effects, emitted from the vapes in the Opening Animation animation, represent the idea that this is a powerful device (Turbo). The setting of this animation is the “Land Of The HRB Turbos,” a peaceful, naturalistic landscape that is protected from humans by giant birds. Once a year, the HRB Turbos migrate back to this land to experience and celebrate it’s beauty. (Video Game) • (s.) 2 of 2 Unreal Engine HEADER DESCRIPTION Programs Used ‘Done, Dead.’ is an open-world video game being developed SCREENSHOT by a friend & I. Our goals for this project are to learn how to utilize Unreal Engine (UE) while showcasing our digital modeling skills. To achieve this, we have been modeling all of our assets from scratch using Blender, importing them into UE using a Python script I wrote, and compiling it into a digital landscape. The style we’re going for with our assets is a sharp shaded, ‘detail where it needs to be’ style. This is to showcase the geometry of our assets. SCREENSHOT This long term side project is in it’s beginning stages. In our current stage, we have created hundreds of assets— from vegetation to buildings. We’ve designed, modeled, and textured the island and started to build the game mechanics using UEs Blueprint system. Our next phase for this project is learning how to work with the UE lighting system, building more of the games mechanics, and creating the character animations. Digital Modeling • Procedural Generation & Pipeline Scripting Python Scripting • (s.) 2 of 2 Procedural Generation & Pipelining HEADER Generated Tree Programs Used Generated Bark Python scripting and automation is a tool I use to accelerate my creative workflow. It has a wide range of opportunities but some of the more useful implications are procedural generation and workflow pipelining. These Python scripts have saved me weeks of work and effort. Description Blender to Unreal Engine.py This script prepares Blender models for UE. It runs through a list of checks and repairs. It then exports the model as a .fbx file. There are other plugins that operate similarly but creating mine from scratch allows me to customize it to my work flow. Table Generator.py This procedural generation script can create an infinite number of unique tables from a few basic inputs meshes. It was created to easily create unique furniture for the different buildings in “Done, Dead.” Tree Generator.py Table Generator script This script is similar to the Table Generator, but it doesn’t require any input meshes. It creates unique meshes from scratch in a set of additive stages. There are also similar plugins for this, but this script will allow me to match the style of trees to the rest of our assets. Digital Modeling • Product Design & 3D Printing Displayed Gallery • (s.) 2 of 2 Custom 3D Printing HEADER Description Designs Programs Used Hex Plate Social Media Graphics Recently, I’ve been working with a start-up online distributer in California designing display items to print and sell. These two projects are my favorite so far from this partnership. The first is a mini display piece modeled after the skeleton character used as the brand’s identity. This display piece serves as an interesting novelty item on the site. The model was sculpted using Blender and was specifically designed to print without any supports or assembly. 3D Model The second project, on the following page, is a complete redesign of their main display stand. This stand was a major improvement over their original boxier design. The new design, which ‘Gallery’ we’ve branded as the “Gallery” takes a fraction of the time to print and was specifically designed to be modular. Architecture Architecture has been my introduction to design. As a student, it has taught me that design is an investigative & iterative process. Long hours in the studio and constant deadlines have taught me that the design process can be long and demanding before it’s rewarding. Critiques & presentations have taught me to communicate my ideas both verbally and graphically to an audience of professionals. Technical classes have taught me how to be practical and work within constraints, while studio professors have taught me how to break out of those constraints without breaking those rules. Most importantly, architecture has taught to understand space in both 2D & 3D mediums. ___32 33 ___

Architecture • Architectural Renders Preserve Club &Architecture • Projects Residence • (s.) 2 of 2 Tiny House Render Architectural Renders HEADER Description Programs Used The Preserve is a 3500 acre luxury outdoor sporting club & private residence located in Richmond, Rhode Island. I had the opportunity of interning at the facility’s in-house architecture Entrance Render and engineering office. There, I created graphics & renderings that were used for proposals & promotional material. The buildings in the renders are a mix of BIM models created in Revit for The Preserve and models created by myself while Interior render working there. The most ambitious project I took on while at The Preserve was a birds eye view render of the 3500 acre property in it’s current state. Architecture • Conceptional Studio Project Roxbury Creative Center • (s.) 2 of 3 Conceptional Studio HEADER Project Description Programs Used The goal of this semester long project was to design a recreational center for a community in Roxbury, MA. Wood and steel Concept Model Charcoal 24”x28” With my professor Armando Plata, I spent the first half of the semester experimenting with concepts by creating “Artifacts”— two and three-dimensional abstract art pieces as a way to determine my concept. These artifacts culminated into a concept of exposing complexities and connections. Expanding on my concept, I decided that the theme of the recreational center would be Art & Creation. The complexities being exposed are the variety of different creative disciplines the center will be designed for. The connections would be the collaboration between the disciplines, highlighted by a unique floor plan that’s designed to encourage collaboration. The final design consists of six separate buildings, or “shops”, connected by a glass clad space-frame that Charcoal & Acetone Transfer 24”x28” spills out, forming an art gallery in the rear of the building. The shape of the shops were designed specifically to create social hot-spots within the circulation, encouraging collaboration. The geometry of the space- frame was generated using Blender by simulating a fluid flowing through the shops and flowing out of the rear. Figuratively, the collaborative work created in the shops would eventually be “washed up” by the fluid, into the gallery. Architecture • Conceptional Studio Project East Bay Bike Station • (s.) 2 of 2 Conceptional Studio Project HEADER Section Perspective Programs Used Description The East Bay Bike Station was designed to be the hub of the East Bay Bike Path. There, people will be able to store their belongings in the locker rooms, purchase food & supplies from one of the shops, and use the community room as a public Bike Path elevation work space. The building sits on a long & narrow site, across the street from India Point Park and hugs the i-195 overpass. Due to the narrow site, I designed the building to have staggered floors connected by ramp-ways that form the core of the building. This would also allow people to easily transport their bikes through the building. The brightly colored spaces make it easy to differentiate the levels from inside or outside the building. The first part of the project was to procedurally generate the environment using Rhino3D and it’s visual programming interface, Grasshopper. I then designed a shelter that complimented the environment. My final design was an organic form that burrows into the side of a steep hill. Graphic Design Graphic design has taught me that design and communication go hand & hand. As a student, I learned the history of graphical communication and how it’s continuously evolving as a discipline. Research assignments taught me to approach projects with an anthropological view and that culture should influence design. Branding design has taught me that being the odd one out can be an advantage. Graphic Design studios expanded on concepts I picked up from architecture studios such as balance, contrast & hierarchy. They then introduced me to the importance of formatting, color theory & typography. It has pushed the importance of iteration & investigation— showing me that design can communicate in multiple ways. ___52 53 ___

The idea for the project was to choose a subject and to make a poster illustrating what you “love” and what you “hate” about that subject. The subject I chose was architecture. Graphic Design • Branding Branding Projects • (s.) 3 of 2 Branding Projects HEADER Programs Used This project was for my Brand Identity class w/ Professor John Farmer. The idea was to create a concept for an 826 National store specific for the location we were assigned. I was assigned Detroit, MI. The concept for my store was a DIY shop branded “Made In Detroit.” This highlighted Detroit’s history of production while giving a cool novelty to the store. The shop would be filled with bins of mechanical and electrical parts that customers could put together using one of the provided guides. Once finished with your object, you’re given a “Card Of Authenticity” with a small vinyl sticker saying “Made In Detroit” that you place on your object. This conceptual project was also for my Brand Identity class. The idea for this project was to create a brand for a time travel company. My concept was to create an exclusive Virtual Reality company that uses the technology to visually send people back in time into hyper-real environments. The company would be called Twin Mirror, after the technique used in the earliest VR devices. A customer would apply for an invitation through the Twin Mirror website. If they are selected, they are sent a rectangular box with a 4 digit number dial on the front. Customers then set the dial to the year they would like to go back to, and then open the box. Once opened, the stretched Twin Mirror logo is foreshortened, revealing the true logo and the virtual reality glasses inside. ___62 63 ___
