CUISINE Today’s South African cuisine is the result of a blend of influences from nearly every part of the world. Traditional African dishes have evolved along with Indian and European cooking to create a vibrant variety of tastes for the inquisitive traveler. Beef, pork, and chicken are the basis of most main dishes, with occasional opportunities to try indigenous meats like farm-raised springbok (a game meat similar to venison). Seafood may also be available, especially along the coast.
