TemCat Trestleboard August 2021 Chartered 1922 Brethren, Let me start off with apologizing for not providing a Trestleboard that month. As predicted June was insane and unfortunately my 24” gauge ran out before producing one. With digital delivery, you will hopefully read this one before the Grand Master’s Meet and Greet on July 31st. A flyer with details has been included for your benefit. On August 2nd will be our stated mee ng and we have some very important topics to cover. One new applica on, one affilia on, and the hot topic of them all, our roof repairs. An affordable bid has been given by a company another lodge has used however with it being such a large repair, we will need to touch our investments (unless you have $70,000 or more to share). We have some money on hand yet that will not cover the en re amount. If these are concerning topics to you then please show up and help us solve this at our mee ng or forever hold your peace. The following Saturday we will be doing a quick cleanup of the outdoor degree loca on and then heading to lunch bought by your Worshipful Master. We are also planning on Raising two Brothers before grand communica on. So if you can and are willing, please help us. Enjoy the content. Fraternally yours, Tim Tagge Worshipful Master Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twi er to keep updated throughout the month. @TemeculaFreemasons @TemCat524 @freemasons_temecula h ps://TemeculaMasons.org

A body of tradi onal lore evolved, using architecture and ceremonies that made use of these wholly natural but mysterious effects. In The Secret of the Temple, John Michael Greer painstakingly rebuilds a body of lost knowledge that has been used to accumulate and direct energy throughout history, and can be used again today.

APPLICATION FOR AFFILIATION: Brother Jacob Ratliff ● Jacob Ratliff ● 39 years old ● Married, Angelica Ratliff (37 yrs. old) ● Ailani-9 yrs. old, Anuhea-7 yrs. old, Kaikoa-4 yrs. old ● Murrieta, CA ● 7 months ● Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice w/ a Minor in Management, Alumni of Alpha Phi Sigma ● 4 yrs. in U.S. Army, 2000-2004, 17 total years as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer (U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs Police, U.S. Dept. of the Army Civilian Police, U.S. Defense Logistics Agency Police, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)-Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). ● Came into my career by default. Before I ended my U.S. Army career, I began applying for all types of jobs and the only agency that picked me up was the U.S. Dept. of the Army Civilian Police and from there my career in Federal Law Enforcement began. ● Throughout the years I’ve learned the meaning and purpose of being law enforcement. As my skills and education progressed, my ability to proficiently learn and master my trade helped me successfully progress to my current assignment with the U.S. Marshals Service. My primary job with the USMS is Prisoner Operations Group, Court/Judicial Security, and Prisoner Extraditions. ● Before becoming a Master Mason, I was always intrigued in knowing more about masonry and how to become one. It wasn’t until three years ago that a good friend of mine revealed he was a Mason at which time I began inquiring about how to become one, which resulted in him referring me to my mother lodge, Chula Vista Lodge 626 in Chula Vista, CA, which in 2019, I was the Tiler and 2020 the Junior Steward.
APPLICATION FOR AFFILIATION: Brother Jacob Ratliff ● Since I was no longer living in San Diego County, I was unable to attend lodge functions with Chula Vista Lodge 626, so I began searching lodges in my area and researching more of the history of the lodges in Temecula Valley. I found that Temecula Catalina Island Lodge 524 was the right fit for me and I reached out to them via email. Worshipful Master Tim Taggett extended his cable tow and invited me to join many Zoom conference calls, so that the brethren and I could become familiar with each other, until such time we could finally meet in person. ● The only expectations I have is to continue to support the lodge and functions affiliated with the growth of it and the continued support for the community. This also includes continuing to grow in masonry and progressing and learning each officer position, in hopes to become a Worshipful Master of this lodge someday. ● I have no family history of masons. ● I love Mountain Biking, Hiking and spending time with my family as much as possible. ● I am the Founder/Owner of a charity foundation called, Expeditionary Veterans Association (EVA). In short, EVA provides weekly-weekend recreational therapy for Veterans and Active-Duty Military Personnel that suffer with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Every weekend we pickup EVA members to various mountainous locations for long and fun mountain biking rides, which provides the therapy they much need to deal with their PTSD. ● As much as I would like to pin-point one or a few things to learn, it is my belief that being a mason is a life of long continuous learning that will always keep me appressed to wanting to learn more and more. The truth of the matter is that the only sure thing a mason will learn is to be a better man and a better mason. ● My personality and willingness to strike up a good conversation is what makes me the ideal person that is always looking to get to people and their lives. I always keep a smile even though
APPLICATION FOR AFFILIATION: Brother Jacob Ratliff I’m super tired. I believe that sometimes the willingness to talk and communicate with others can be just what a person needs to cheer them up and appreciate the time spent with others.

Interest in Masonry: I started my journey into Freemasonry 20 years ago and unfortunately the lodge I was affiliated with disbanded (Macedonia lodge #1 in San Diego). I had completed my
EA and received the FC lessons. While I was active duty, it was somewhat difficult to find another home due to deployments and mission specific task. Freemasons were pillars in my community growing up and I ALWAYS wanted to join the Brotherhood. I saw Freemasons feed the homeless, donated time and money to charities and Freemasons are leaders in the community, who wouldn't want to be a part of making our community better? I would absolutely appreciate it if I can complete this journey. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Expectations: I expect to attain desired knowledge and personal growth, along with providing a service to humanity. Masons in your family tree: None Hobbies: None Interest: Stock trading Things I would like to learn: I would like to learn how being a member of this Brotherhood will make me a better human being which will enable me to be an asset to Masonry, also to continue serving the community. This month we are sharing an ar cle tled “Reflec ons on Stoic Ontology and the Masonic Cra ” by Worshipful Erik Schultz published in the June 2021 Fraternal Review.
Reflections on Stoic Ontology and the Masonic Craft by Worshipful Erik Schultz of Henry Knox Field-John Blair Lodge #349 AF&AM The philosophy of Stoicism is arguably best known for Pneuma is what breathes life into various parts of the its ethical arguments regarding passions, self-control, logos and individuates them, and it is constantly and acting in pursuit of virtue.
