The THREE Most Popular Family Vacation Rental Homes Rare Lakefront Shasta Lake, California Updated: April 24, 2020
INTRODUCTION The Shasta Lakeshore Retreat is located on the shoreline of Shasta Lake in Northern California. Our three homes are the most popular vacation rentals in the area and are available throughout the year for our wonderful guests. If you like to relax, enjoy spectacular views of the lake, the surrounding mountains...and walk to the marina, then this is the place for you. Our homes feature 3 to 5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, bright kitchen/main family rooms with big windows looking out at Shasta Lake. Whether you are enjoying your coffee in the morning, barbequing a steak while enjoying a glass of wine or relaxing in the hot tub, our multiple decks offer some of the best views in the area. The homes are shaded by mature trees, surrounded by wildlife and offer lots of privacy overlooking Shasta Lake. Retreat #1 sleeps up to 10, Retreat #2 up to 14 and Retreat 3 up to 14. Many of our guests rent two or three of these homes which right next to each other for family reunions up to 38 people. Our Lake Homes have one of the shortest and easiest walks down to the marina and boat docks. The marina is within sight of our decks offering food, drinks, ice and fuel. Although this is all about getting away, a short drive will take you to ATV trails, a grocery store, small town night spots, restaurants, bait shops, and fuel. 1|Page
We are one of the few neighborhoods of homes that are in the Sugarloaf area right on the lake. Unlike some arms of the lake which go completely dry ...there is always some lake out in front of us to see from our decks even in the fall of 2015 after four years of drought. The lake has fortunately filled to the top the last 4 years by Memorial Day. This is a great place but don't take our word for it....read some of the 100+ FIVE Star reviews in the "Reviews" section of our web site www.shastalakeshoreretreat.com 2|Page

LAKE LEVEL AND BOATING: Lake Shasta is a reservoir so the lake level and the shore proximity to the house will vary greatly based on winter rains, droughts and the time of the year (highest in late spring, early summer and lowest in the late fall/early winter) as you can see in some of the photos. In drought conditions the lake can drop 100-150 feet. The home’s distance to the lakes edge can go from 20-40 feet (like at Memorial Day the past 4 years) to several hundred yards. Although the water level was down significantly in late 2015 after four years of drought, the boat ramp remained open and there was plenty of water to enjoy a day or a week on the water. Shasta is the largest lake in California Photo taken in Sept 2015 after 4 years or drought in main with over 365 miles channel of Sacramento Arm. Lower but lots of water. of shoreline. It still took over 45 minutes to drive a power boat at speed from our lake homes to one of many other parts of the lake when the lake was at its lowest point that we have seen. Again...best lake in California for water sports and always enough water to enjoy. Don’t listen to the news. Lake Full (Like Memorial Day last 4 years) Lake Low (Like Nov 2015 after drought) View from Deck & Inside Main Room of Retreat 1 d LOCATION OF LAKE HOUSES 27 | P a g e

It was exactly as pictured and very clean which we appreciated. Owners were wonderful to deal with and always very prompt in answering any questions we had. We took our kids and grandkids and had a great time renting a patio boat (Marina couldn't be any closer) and enjoying the view on the decks. Thanks for providing the source of many happy memories! • Wonderful house with great view! This experience was one of our family’s best vacations. The house had everything we needed, except our food. We really enjoyed the large wrap around decks and the hot tub!! So peaceful and close to everything. We'll be back!! • We had a great week at the house/lake! Weather was perfect for wakeboarding and tubing. The house was perfect and right on the water. We only had to go around the corner for the boat ramp so that was even better! The family can't wait to go again next year! Thank you again for a fun week! • Just returned from a wonderful trip to Shasta Lake where we spent most of our time in our boat on the lake. The house was perfect as it was so close to the public boat launch and easy to go back and forth. The house had a great layout as we had 3 teenagers with us and they were able to take over the lower half of the house. My husband and I slept 28 | P a g e
on the main floor. We were all very comfortable. Already planning next year’s trip to Shasta! • I can honestly say that the Shasta Lakeshore Retreat is the perfect accommodation while visiting Lake Shasta, especially if you have a boat. The marina is within easy walking distance and it's only $25/night to rent a slip! I loved the large deck with a beautiful view of the lake. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans and the big BBQ on the deck is great! The beds were really comfortable, and we slept soundly, it was so peaceful. We'll definitely return next summer. • We had such a wonderful time! This location with the two homes directly next to each other was perfect for our large blended family. 22 of us (13 adults and 9 grandchildren) had plenty of individual space within the beautiful houses. The property is just as described in the listing with everything you could possibly want or need. Everything was spotlessly clean and in great condition. There was plenty of parking for our 6 cars with space to spare. The welcome baskets with a bottle of wine and two souvenir Lakeshore Retreat T-Shirts were much appreciated (we ended up purchasing additional T-shirts for the entire group). The large decks and beautiful lake views were treasured every day and night with plenty of seating for all. It just took a few minutes to walk down to the lake, and there was a convenient boat ramp nearby. The kids had a blast playing in the water. We enjoyed playing board games together, assembling puzzles, pitching horseshoes, boating and fishing, hiking various trails along the lake, and relaxing in the hot tubs. We took the free tour of the Shasta Dam and found it very informative. We went to the Basshole Bar and Grill and enjoyed visiting with the locals, eating appetizers (very tasty) and playing pool. The local market stocked most things you would need in a pinch, and the city of Redding was only 35 minutes away for major food shopping. The owners (Lori and David) were very pleasant and just a message or call away for any questions that arose. The entire booking, checking in and checking out process was very organized and easy. Everyone in our group without exception enjoyed the trip and look forward to our next visit. • This is our 3rd year and we can't tell you how much we love it here. We keep coming back. It is a fantastic getaway to nature and a great way for our families to reconnect. • We are highly recommending this place! Very beautiful and comfortable. Thank you, Lori and Dave, for special welcome gift! Hope will see you very soon. Everything was absolutely perfect and we and our friends more than happy!!! • This a great home. We really enjoyed it. The house was clean and comfortable. All the comforts of your own home. I highly recommend this place. Thank you for letting me enjoy your place. =) • I just wanted to tell everyone how perfect our stay was at the Shasta Retreat #1. Our group had 10 people, and everyone was very comfortable and happy during our stay. We spent lazy days out on the lake and did some kayaking and paddle boarding from the shore of the retreat. It was so very generous of Lori and Dave to make those available to their guests! The house was super clean and there were plenty of plates and silverware to accommodate us all. The air conditioner worked really well so it was nice to come back to a cool house after a hot day of jet skiing. We spent a lot of time out on the upper balcony, even feeding a family of deer some carrots one evening. The view is really beautiful, and it was so great to have some cherished family time to sit and play games and be with one another. My mom is getting older and this house was just perfect for her as she spent a couple of afternoons painting a picture of the scenery from the balcony while we went to the caverns and jet skiing. We got the chance to meet the landlords (they were staying in the Retreat next door) and they were super friendly and 29 | P a g e
helpful. I would definitely recommend this lake front house to anyone staying in the Shasta area. • Thank you, Lori and Dave, for sharing your home with us. Our family had an amazing retreat here. More than enough room for everyone. Property is stocked very well with essentials, games, blankets, everything we needed. Owners are very responsive and helpful. The lake is my new favorite and this property will be our go to retreat. Very convenient for boaters. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We will be back. • This was our first stay at Retreat 1. We were very impressed with how clean & tidy everything was. The beds were comfy, kitchen was spacious for 2 people to cook in, the view of the lake was awesome. We were lucky to be able to meet Dave and Lori. They were super friendly and always there if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this property. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an awesome vacation. • We had a very positive experience. Owners were very pleasant to deal with & always in touch, they provided very detailed & complete instructions. Location is perfect, near Dunsmuir, not too far from Redding, & right smack dab on the Shasta Lake. We enjoyed our stay very much. Kitchen was well equipped, hot tub looked very well maintained, bathrooms were clean & well stocked. There is actually so much to do in the area, we barely spent any time at the house. We would definitely rent again in the future.
