    Designing your own herbal remedy with your spa
therapist begins this retreat. A salted polish deep cleans,
a shower with natural fruit acids encourages circulation,
followed by a massage that assists in quieting the mind
  and soothing the body. A pure cotton sheet is loosely
  wrapped to encourage absorption of rich shea butter
 crème infused with green tea and sage. Hints of spices,
  flowers and herbs fill the air while soaking in a warm
        bath relieves negative energy and induces
                   profound relaxation.
             Scented Journey
     Exfoliation/Shower/Warm Bamboo Massage
                       90 Minutes
Full body exfoliation with your custom crafted herbal
 blend loosens dead skin cells which are washed away
 in an invigorating shower rich in fruit acids and shea
butter. Silky smooth warmed bamboo stalks encourage
   deep relaxation during the massage when used on
tight muscles. A gift will be offered to remember your
           scented journey here on Sea Island.

 Rich minerals taken from Lake Michigan help soothe
 the effects of arthritis or tendinitis. A salt exfoliation
 and a “lossage” with mineral-rich lotion help support
    the mineral effect, to soothe joints and stiffness.

   This spice-based remedy for aching joints and sore
    muscles is used by healers in Bali. Using the root
   of ginger enhances energy, promotes digestion and

  and a Ginger Cookie are offered at the conclusion of

Rice is a natural exfoliant, rich in enzymes, amino acids,
  natural moisturizers, and is an overall soothing skin
 remedy. Mandarin and orange naturally lift the spirits
 and are rich in Vitamin C. The experience concludes
  with a warm cup of herbal elixir and a fresh orange.
             Lemongrass Lift
     Detoxifying Wrap/Rice & Coconut Scrub with
              Organic Citrus Island Fruits

Organic lemongrass is an antioxidant-rich grass used to
 cool the body and calm the nervous system. Organic
  orange and mandarin are instrumental in relieving
indigestion and lifting the spirit. Detoxifying wrap and
 scrub will invigorate your body to help support your

          cool cup of lemongrass tea to refresh.

Using olive stones from Spain, argan shells and grape
seeds, this intense scrub helps cell turnover and leaves
 the skin velvety soft. Lemon and cypress will relieve
 tension through an inhalation application. Aloe and
mint are brushed onto the skin before you are wrapped
 cocoon style in a natural cotton cloth, allowing you
         to totally engage in the moment for a

and naturally infused crèmes available in the market
today, you can find it all here. Gifts, mineral make-
up, jewelry, candles, books, body lotions, shower gels,
shampoo, conditioners, intense hand and foot creams,
and aromatherapy and organic products are beautifully
displayed with testers for sampling. Just the way a spa
boutique should be! Our informative staff will answer
any questions and will be happy to demonstrate the
proper use of products for you.

Spa Lingo
Lossage—
We have created a new word to describe the special
technique used in some of our body treatments. It
results from using effleurage strokes which are inspired
by the French meaning of “to touch lightly” and
“lotion.” It’s not quite a massage and not quite a lotion
application. It’s lossage!
Water Features—
To assist in your spa experience, we suggest testing
the waters. In the ladies’ and men’s lounges we have a
private soaking hot thermal pool (approximately 104ºF)
with solar salts to help alleviate tension and soothe
the skin. The water atrium coed large whirlpool with
waterfall is heated to 82ºF to lower body temperature
after soaking in the 104ºF thermal pool. This helps
increase stimulation and circulation throughout the
body. We suggest you then swim in the 86ºF heated
indoor lap pool and finish with a hot soak in the 104ºF
Jacuzzi located in back of the indoor pool. In between
water experiences, we highly suggest you cool down in
the showers.
Exfoliation/Scrub/Dry Brush—
Are all forms of removing dead flaky skin.
Extractions—
Estheticians remove oil from embedded pores without
the use of tools.
Steam—
A gentle stream of steam mists the skin to soften
before extractions.
Wrap—
After product is applied to the body, a cloth or
linen wrap is placed around your body to help
the skin absorb.
