The Deep Thoughts of Mike Cook In the words of Tony Stark in Iron Man 2, “Oh, it’s good to be back!” That’s right, y’all! I’m back and I’m here to stay…well until I graduate. The point is, I’m back, baby! Let me tell you, being virtual for all of last year SUCKED! I hated it! I NEVER Caramel Apple Spice want to do online school again! Unfortunately, all good things must come to an 2 tablespoons caramel sauce end, which means my “deep thoughts” are coming to an end. I Whipped cream know, I know. It’s sad. But never fear! I’m going to make these 1/2 cup water “deep thoughts” the best in the history of The Deep Thoughts of 1/4 cup brown sugar Mike Cook. With that being said, let’s get right into it! 2 tablespoons granulated sugar The first thought is about cheese. Yes, that’s right. Cheese! 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon “Who was the first person to want to eat moldy cheese?” Were 2 teaspoons vanilla extract they just like, “Yeah, I’ll take some of the moldy cheese, thanks!” Instructions: I understand some people like blue cheese, and that’s fine! Dogs like being petted, but if you try to pet a cat, I everything has combined and warmed. Serve guarantee you, they’ll bite your face off! Also, God forbid if and top with whipped cream and additional someone breaks into your house. A dog will protect you but caramel. what do you think a cat will do in that situation? Yep, you’ve guessed it! They’ll just sit around on their lazy butt, while you’re getting mugged. The following is my interpretation of a dog’s thought process in this situation versus a cat’s thought process in general. DOG (Bravely): Don’t worry! I’ll protect you! CAT (Unfazed): Oh, you’re getting mugged? Man, I hate it when that happens. Oh well. I’m just going to lick my paws, sit back and relax while you get robbed. So, if you’re trying to decide if you want a dog or a cat, I just gave you some valid reasons why you should get a dog. By the way, for all you cat people out there, I don’t mean to offend you. I’m just giving my opinion. The final thought I have for now is this, “What’s up with orange?” Now, the reason I’m asking this question is because I don’t like orange. The best way I can describe my hatred for this color is this. Orange is basically an off-brand red. If anything, orange is…annoying. A little throwback for ya, there! There you have it! If you are reading this, thank you so much for doing so. I hope some of these thoughts made you smile and/or laugh. Stay tuned for the next edition of The Deep Thoughts of Mike Cook. Until next time, wash your hands, stay hydrated, and stay safe! Take care!
Autumn Remembrance by Anonymous It’s that time of year when I feel warm and comfortable knowing that I will be spending more time with family and friends as the holiday season approaches. I think about the good times my family and I had over the summer, the warm summer days filled with laughter and fun. The cheerful spirit of summer flowing through our days is now to be filled with the smell of pumpkin spice and the crisp autumn breeze. Now, the smell in the air and the pleasant morning air remind me of the importance of autumn. The pile of dried leaves and tree stumps spread a warm earthy scent in every step I take. The crunching of leaves and snapping of twigs, a constant reminder that autumn is here. During the cool, breezy evenings I fill my time reading books and talking to my family in front of a blazing, warm fireplace. The house is filled with the warmth of family bonding, love, and laughter. This is also a time of endless cups of hot cocoa and old classic movies such as Roman Holiday. I love to go to the nearby farms and get apple cider and doughnuts to share with my friends. These treats are the source of many joyful evenings at the local park. I like to take advantage of the warm atmosphere of autumn best. When everyone is inside at home and school, bonds are more easily formed and memories more easily created. The color of the leaves always reminds me of nature's kaleidoscope with a colorful array of yellows, reds, and oranges. They are like nature's indicator that a new life and year will be arriving. The leaves create an amber hue that fills the streets and adds to the spirit of autumn. I love to go for bike rides in the evening, where I can see these marvelous displays of colors. When the sunlight permeates through the crimson-colored leaves, it gives them a stained glass appearance making them look heavenly. I feel so happy looking at these leaves, that I end up spending several hours admiring their beauty. I hope that this season will bring happiness, warmth, and love to all the families of the world. I hope that everybody goes to sleep at night knowing that a new season has started, a season which will mesmerize everyone with its splendid color, picturesque landscapes, and hearty ambiance.
