Our 2020 HSC Achievers I am exceptionally proud of the excellent results from our boys this year. Several Mathematics students were awarded highest standardised test results and William Liu (Year 9) and Edwin She (Year 11) were invited to attend the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee's School of Excellence in 2021. Teaching Excellence At the founding of The Scots College in 1893, the moderator of the Presbyterian Church described its teachers as those who had won the highest honours in university, knew how to teach Australian boys, and saw their vocation as “a work of faith, a labour of love and a patience of hope”. Amidst all the challenges of 2020, teachers at the College 15 continued in that spirit to advance our calling to a "higher learning for the common weal". Through a range of applied professional learning programs and courses of study, they have been developing the technical skills of the classroom and the deeper awarded 2020-21 Master Teacher Fellowships 6 undertaking PhD research elements of expertise: vocational clarity, philosophical depth and entrepreneurial thinking. Of particular significance was the innovative work of all teachers in over 30 Teaching for Character teams.
