LOMBOK ISLAND • First Occured in August 8, 2018 Background • Major earthquake (≥5 Richter Scale) occured more than hundreds • Total earthquake was about 635 earthquake in August 2018 • Casualities (Per August, 15) : North Lombok 374 fatalities, West Lombok 37 fatalities, city of Mataram 9 fatalities, East Lombok 12 fatalities, Center Lombok2 fatalities, and city of Denpasar (Bali) 2 fatalities.

Method This study utilized a Data were collected descriptive qualitative through FGD with elderly design. in 4 shelters. The inclusion criteria were determined based on age, A thematic approach was experienced direct adopted for data analysis. victims, and lived in shelter after the disaster.
Results 41 elderly (60-85 y.o), 31 females and 10 Each focus group 5 themes were males, participated in consist 4-14 people. identified 4 focus group.
Be grateful because still alive • “I am very grateful. I don’t care about the destroyed house, Alhamdulillah [thank God], we are still alive”. • “Alhamdulillah, the most important is I can survive • “I am alive, I can survive, just be grateful”.
Be patient because it is a test • “it is a test, are we still patient. Yes, whether we are patient or not, we are still praying. • “I Think that it is a test of our faith”. • “We will be better if we pass this test”. • “My family has accepted this disaster. We will get reward from the God if we pass [this test]”.
Be calm down because family member have gathered • “The most important is we are gathered in here, about house and other problems…we don’t care about it”. • “ I am feeling better in here, although we asleep in this tent, as long as my family has been gathered” • “ I have to be strong, and still calm, my family has been gathered, I have to protect them”
Helping each other amongst family members and neighbours • “I’m staying here because I’ve got many friends, everyone are helping each other. I’m feeling safe in shelter”. • “I am happy , even we are not family, we just like family right now, we help each other”. • “We are helping each other, some people have task to cook, someone else will looking for logistic and water, and another people will help to guard this shelter or taking care of the ill people”.
Spiritual activities • “When the night comes, we read qur’an, pray together, it make me feel better”. • “we are praying for the victims, we will send our pray every night after maghrib prayer” • “to spend my time, sometimes I pray, read the holy book” • “We still teach Quran to children in this shelter”.
Discussion Elderly in lombok experienced some feelings of lost, depressed, and exhausted Elderly can survive because they have some protective factors, both from inside and outside themselves
Conclusion This study could identify some protective factors of elderly in lombok Nurses as well as relevant helpers have important roles to utilize the result of this study to optimize the protective factors.
