The £118,000 makeover was generously funded by the John Jackson Memorial Fund and the Devonshire West Big Local. Whilst the major works to the façade have been progressing, the Friends of the Theatre and some of the stage crew have been busy painting the auditorium, reinstating the original cream colours of the Dress and Upper Circle fronts. The 135 year old theatre is the oldest in Eastbourne and has seen a massive growth in patrons from 5,000 to 36,000 thanks to the hard work of volunteers and an ever growing programme of musicals, dance, comedy and more. 2018 highlights include The Summer Show, Brian Conley and Lee Mead.
