3 February Half-Term We challenged you to make some coconut mice from a Berkshire Vision half-term cooking pack! Sisters Noo and Lolli, enjoyed making some very colourful coconut mice! Khalid and Arwa mixed the ingredients to make some coconut teddies.
4 More Half-Term Makes Here are some creative artworks in playdough that couldn’t be eaten! Dayzie making some blue playdough. Diya’s playdough tiered cake, Lily’s dog with some braille and a special message in playdough from Matthew!
5 Playdough Recipe If you’ve been inspired, here’s how to make it! You will need: • 2 cups plain flour (256 g) • 1 cup salt (128g) • 1 tablespoon of oil, • 1 cup (1/2 pint) cold water, • 2 drops liquid food colouring or fragrant oil such as lavender or cocoa powder (optional). Method: • Mix the flour, salt and oil together in a bowl. • Add in a few drops of food colouring or fragrant oil if you want to. • Slowly add in the water and mix until you get a dough. • If the dough is too wet, add some more flour. If it is too dry, add some more water. • Make some animals or whatever you want. • When you have finished, roll up the dough again to use another day! Keep it in an airtight container or a plastic bag and keep in the fridge. DO NOT EAT THIS!

7 Reader’s letter Hello my name is Jude, I am 9 years old. I have a rare genetic disorder and I am the only person in the world to have it so it doesn’t have a name. I was born with many other medical health conditions and a global developmental delay but it doesn’t stop me. I love learning new things, 4 years ago I Picture of learnt to walk and my next Jude with challenge is to communicate with his Eyeglaze people. I am currently using a devise called an Eyegaze, it’s similar to what Stephen Hawkins used to communicate. You use your eyes to point to words that you want to say. This week I learnt to ask for a drink and for my favourite programme to be played louder. I’m very bossy with it now and know exactly what I want! What exciting things have you been up to? 8 Craft Corner What a busy, creative lot you all are! Here are some photos of what you have all be doing recently! William and his sister made paper plate animals from the half-term craft packs. Matthew made some ice sculptures recently.
9 Show and Tell Aarayan could be a Bake Off superstar, with his amazing baking – some delicious cookies and a chocolate cake. Well done, Aarayan! Fun Facts Did you know the world’s tallest cake was 7.8m tall, and the world record for cupcake eating is 72 in six minutes! Don’t try that at home!
