from the president Dear Friends, As spring arrives, we are excited to welcome a new exhibition, Field Notes: Seed Stories and the Power of Plants. The exhibition brings together the Museum’s core subjects of art, natural science, and history, bridging biodiversity of the past to the present. To coincide with the exhibition, we will present a new event - an Earth Day “How To” Festival on April 27 transforming the Museum into a giant interactive science fair! We are also preparing for this year’s Gala on Friday, May 10 where we will be honoring Virginia Allen, Janice and Charles Stoffers, and the Impractical Jokers’ Daniel Green for their ongoing support and contributions to the Museum. We hope to see you all there celebrating our dynamic community and helping raise funds for the museum’s programming. When you visit during the month of June, be sure to stop by the auditorium where we will be screening “What Pride Means to Me” to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and a half-century of LGBTQIA+ liberation as part of World Pride. With so many new and exciting things happening this season – don’t forget to keep an eye out for our family programming mainstays like Super Science and Family Art Workshops happening monthly. And don’t miss the campus-wide event, Big Picnic on June 15. Happy Spring! Kind regards, Janice Monger President & CEO 2 Front Cover: Gale Wisdom, 12 Bouquets (detail). Photogram, 2014-2016
