GAINSBOROUGH'S GIRLS Fri 26th & Sat 27th Apr 7:30pm Tickets: £17 (No Concessions) Fundraiser: All profits will go to the Gainsborough’s House capital project: Reviving an Artist’s Birthplace: A National Centre for Gainsborough. Sixty years ago, Cecil Beaton, the pre-eminent society photographer of his century, wrote “Gainsborough’s Girls”, a play about the London triumphs and trials of the supreme master of the society portrait of the late 18th century. The Tower Theatre, London, in collaboration with Gainsborough’s House in Sudbury presents the premiere revival of this fascinating human comedy where the lauded self-made man of one era looks back at his equal from the past. Prior to the London run in the Tower Theatre’s new home in its inaugural season, these two special performances are taking place in Gainsborough’s home town. These performances are in support of the capital development at Gainsborough’s House, who are hugely grateful for the generous support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and to David Taylor and The Tower Theatre, London.
