Spirit Pilots’ Contract Comparison Introduction This contract comparison is provided to you by your Negotiating Committee in advance of Section 6 negotiations. It contains a generalized summary of key CBA sections: pay and scope; work rules, vacation, and sick leave; and retirement and insurance. To provide the broadest possible view of contracts within our industry, we have selected major airlines from across the industry to provide a factual comparison between the CBA at Spirit with contracts at other carriers. The data in this comparison is current through August 2021 and will be periodically updated as necessary. The carriers included in this comparison are Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Hawaiian, Southwest, and United. This document represents each pilot group’s current language or metric. It contains abridgements and paraphrasing from substantially larger and more detailed documents and, as such, it is not intended to be a primary source for interpretation of contract language. During the preparation of this comparison, we have reviewed other carriers’ CBAs, conferred with other Negotiating Committees, and consulted ALPA’s staff subject-matter experts to ensure the accuracy of the information. Your Negotiating Committee is coordinating the effort to present this information to Spirit pilots so you can compare the current provisions in our contract with our peers in the industry and decide which sections need our most focused attention as we prepare to enter Section 6 negotiations next year. The purpose of the comparison is to empower you to make informed recommendations, contributions, assessments, and decisions throughout the Section 6 process—not to establish a peer group or set expectations. We encourage you to take the time to review this comparison so that you have the information needed to make informed decisions in upcoming MEC surveys and polling. This data will be available on the SPA ALPA Negotiating Committee webpage and will be updated as other pilot groups ratify new agreements. 1 Spirit Pilots’ Contract Comparison | August 2021
