T H E S PA RTA N / November 2019 / 05 Cheetahs Ambassadors Sparta Ambassadors visited the Welkom branch on the 14th of August. Captain Tian Meyer, Boan Venter, Sintu Manjezi, Luan de Bruin and Tapiwa Mafura enjoyed a tour around the beef processing plant in Welkom. The tour took the gentlemen to the Deboning Department, retail pack and Sparta butchery. The Cheetahs rugby players also enjoyed a Sparta Angus hamburger in our office courtyard. A lot of fun was had by all. Congratulations to the Cheetahs on winning the Currie Cup 2019. Currie Cup fever hit Sparta foods, and our staff thoroughly enjoyed watching the games at the Toyota stadium. Throwback to 2016 when the Cheetahs won the Currie Cup. 06 Women’s Day Celebrations A woman is like a tea bag: you never know how strong it is until it’s in hot water. – Eleanor Roosevelt Sparta has always striven to ensure HAPPY WOME N’S that women not only have a place in the agricultural sector, but that there is a place where women in agriculture MON TH can thrive. Women’s Day celebrates every female and at Sparta we also highlight the invaluable role women play in our company. In celebration, each Sparta lady received a small gift on Women’s Day thanking them for their invaluable contribution to the success of our company. We also embarked on an outreach program to Bronville High School. Each female learner received a dignity pack, lovingly packed by the Marketing Department.

Both Simon and Thabang are in the Deboning Department in Welkom. Well done New Managers Programme and thank you for your hard work. As a family-owned and -operated organisation, we believe that our Simon Mathosi people are pivotal to our success. It therefore follows that we will allocate time and resources to recruit the right individuals and empower them through various training programmes to become the best version of themselves. Sparta and Mama Sophia’s staff as well Sparta believes in empowering students as as the Marquard community joined they are our future leaders. Sparta sent a Teto hands to start painting the school for High School matric student, Motsidiso, to the children living with disabilities. Netherlands to view the exhibition “Welkom Today”. These opportunities are once-in-a- lifetime and Sparta is proud to have given this opportunity to this top student. Sports at Sparta Our Sparta team played netball on the 19th of October in Thabong. Although the team lost the game, the spectators confirmed that a beautiful game was played on the day.
