In the school’s early days, Dale traveled to other exotic African destinations in the off season to teach. Erika is from the U.S. and while pursuing her Masters in Public Health traveled to a rural village in Kenya to work. It’s in Kenya that Dale’s and Erika’s paths crossed. Erika took a kitesurfing lesson and the rest is history. The two were married less than a year later, and Dale moved to the United States to open a second SAK location in the Columbia River Gorge. Today, the two are running SA Kitesurf in three locations – Cape Town, South Africa; Lyle, Washington; and St. Petersburg, FL. When not busy with the kite school, Dale can be found writing music, singing and playing guitar. Erika is a dedicated yoga practitioner, and can be found teaching yoga somewhere in the community. The two have joined forces to create an unforgettable safari (journey) through the Western Cape. With daily yoga practices and local kiteboarding support, you will feel confident to tackle South Africa’s exciting kite conditions. You will end your journey with SAK feeling
renewed, inspired, and refreshed! You will make many new friends and memories to last a lifetime! A sample of the itinerary is included below.
