Welcome Dear Participants, On behalf of Big Path Capital, it is our pleasure to welcome you to Impact Capitalism Summit IX. ICS represents the largest gathering of investable assets focused on return and impact in the world, convening institutional investors with a portfolio approach to Impact Investing interested in deploying capital across asset classes. At Big Path Capital, we are convinced that the engine of capitalism has been misused, underused, and ultimately squandered. Big Path works exclusively with companies, funds, and investors who are harnessing the power of capital markets to create social, environmental and financial returns. The theme for ICS Nantucket 2017 is At The Helm: Women + Millennials + $60 Trillion Wealth Transfer & Moving Towards The Clean Energy Economy in the Era of Trump – two key issues informing and forming the impact investing landscape. The biggest transfer of wealth in human history has started. Over the next 35 years, an unprecedented $60 trillion dollars of wealth will transfer to women and millennials. Women will inherit 70% of this wealth. By 2030, two thirds of the wealth in the United States will be in women's hands. Lastly, women and millennials factor a company's social and environmental impact into their investing decisions at a dramatically higher rate. There is a similar set of undercurrents happening in the clean energy world. With the US’ withdrawal from the Paris Accord and the lack of a clear energy policy, investors, states, and companies are taking matters into their own hands and having an impact. It is our belief that this confluence of factors will drive change and growth in the sector. ICS Nantucket draws attendance from leading family offices, foundations, global wealth investment firms, investment advisors, fund managers, companies and service providers who make up the growing ecosystem of the Impact Capitalism community. The overarching philosophy of the Summit is SmarterMoney+™: Maximize Impact + Maximize Return. Smarter capital generates returns as it generates good. Smarter capital creates returns as it benefits a broader set of stakeholders: shareholders, the environment, and society. The conference program is built around three components: panels on key asset classes and impact themes, Impact in Action, and empirical data. The agenda contains a wide range of panels on diverse asset classes and impact themes. Impact in Action relates to real world examples of funds and companies (one-page summaries contained in the program guide) realizing return and impact. In addition, there will be a series of presentations and the ability to meet one-on-one with these funds and companies. ICS provides a rich environment for learning alongside business development opportunities. The purpose of the event is educational with respect to providing information about the Impact Investing sector and is not designed to sell securities or investments. Welcome to the Summit. Sincerely, Shawn Lesser Michael Whelchel Co-Chairs, Impact Capitalism Summit 9
