About Our Show CELEBRATE! Today, Dance Fusion™ celebrates our community of dancers and choreographers in this 5th Anniversary Showcase and Musical Revue. We are excited to be the first dance show presented since the onset of the Covide-19 pandemic. The love of our community kept us together growing stronger. We are proud to offer the opportunity for the Valley’s dance community to present this show to our loved ones and anyone with a passion for dance. This show is our gift of love and joy, for you. Our Year of Dance! A Message from Linda Simon, owner of Dance Fusion™ Studios This past year has been challenging for the dance community. We have held close, maneuvered virtual software and with the support of our amazing dancers and some fabulous new teachers, Dance Fusion™ has grown! We have added a Teen Division and are excited for the teens in our program. Our Youth Academy continues to flourish. Our Family Classes have kept us all dancing together with family and friends. Our Adult Classes continue to bring us the finest dance teachers (and students) the Valley has to offer! Meet our Amazing Staff! Choreographers (alphabetical order) Michael “Zoom" Bell, born 6/10/1989 in L.A., CA got his start in the entertainment industry at age 8 when he was a part of the D.A.R.E. Dance program and won a scholarship to Millennium Dance. He trained in film and theater beginning with JRP Agency. Zoom's professional career took off after becoming a Hip Hop dance crew member for the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. Since, Zoom has performed all over the world with The Harlem Globetrotters and for ABDC Season 7 winners Elektrolytes. Now, Zoom shares his love for dance, music and fitness with his Hip Hop Cardio brand called Vibe up Fitness. Zoom’s great attitude and energy keeps him learning new things and on the move, so catch him if you can! Zoom has choreographed No Plans for Love, Are U Live and My Way for our show today. Renae Bohall-Rochan started dancing in Aberdeen, SD, apprenticed at Chi-Town Dance and Giordano Dance, and had a Distinguished Artist scholarship at Hope College. After moving to Phoenix, she performed in Super Bowl XXX and XXXI, at the Las Vegas Mirage and Beverly Hills Hotel, with the Beach Boys, Diana Ross, James Brown, Standing O Productions, Contempo Tap Company, Showstoppers Interactive Entertainment, and in shows for Oscar Meyer, Pepsi, Toyota, Intel, and America West. In addition to judging national dance competitions and owning her own tap company, Renae has been teaching at dance studios and public schools for 30 years. Trained in all types of dance, Tap is her passion and will always be her first love. Renae taught and helped stage Puttin’ on the Ritz and choreographed Let Me Out, What a Wonderful World and Adams Groove for our show today. Tanner Clark has been a professional Hip Hop dancer since 16 and performed with Fifth Harmony, Justin Bieber, Skrillex; at The American Music Awards and Ultra Music Festival Miami; music videos for Prince Royce, Snoop Dogg, Fergie; TV’s The X Factor USA, Two and a Half Men, MTV's Going Off; commercials for Kohl’s, Chicago Town Pizza, Paul Mitchell: film 48 Hours to Live, and assisting in choreography and casting for Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. Tanner teaches for DF, DFTD and DFYA and choreographed Yummy, Get it Poppin’ and High You Are for our show today. Sruti Das of Sruti Performing Arts received training in Bharatnattyam for 10 years from Kalamandalam, Calcutta, India. She learned Kathakalu from Guru Govindan Kutti. Sruti received a national scholarship for modern dance in India and worked with Dr. Manjusree Chaka Sirkar and Ranjabati Sirkar. Sruti represented India as a modern dancer in international festivals. In 1998, she went to Europe to perform in World Expo (International Festival). After returning to India, she was selected by international dancer and choreographer Chandralekha of Chennai to work under her. In 2000, Sruti went to Singapore to represent India in Art Festival. In 2010, in China, she choreographed under the direction of Guy Caron, director of creation Cirque Du Soleil. Sruti was chairperson, Art Director and choreographer for NABC 2012 closing ceremony meets west. She has an institute in Las Vegas and has recently opened a branch in Phoenix. Sruti choreographed Pushpanjali, a Bharatnattyam dance with Kakaruoayattu for our show today. Gazelle created and directs, Astarte, a professional Belly Dance Troupe since 1995. They perform at restaurants, cultural festivals, special events, conventions and private parties. Sihaya, Assistant Director was introduced to the beautiful art of Middle Eastern Dance 16 years ago. A variety of cultural influences and dance artists inspired Gazelle to develop her Universal Cabaret Style of Belly Dance. Performing professionally since 1979, she began teaching the Belly Dance in 1991 and now is an Egyptian Trained Certified Belly Dance Instructor. A professional costume designer Gazelle owns “Cloud Creations Custom Costumes”. Gazelle designs a diversity of custom exotic clothing and costumes for dancers. Gazelle choreographed Aziza for our show today.
Janet Jones, a lifelong dancer is gold-certified by the American Council on Exercise. A six-time gold medalist in the AZ Senior Olympics, she choreographs for the Almost Famous Theater Company. Janet owned a dance and gymnastics studio in Mesa, AZ for 12 years, while working for the U.S. Dept. of Justice. Janet teaches Tap and Barre for Dance Fusion. Janet choreographed Robbie Brown’s Puttin’ on the Ritz for our show today. Kriti founded Kriti Dance as a dream of Kriti’s, who won Working Mother of the Year award in 2006, is a working mother of two, and has been featured on several TV channels/print media. Growing up in a metropolitan city (Dubai) with a diverse cultural background, Kriti had the advantage of absorbing different cultures from the East and West. Her childhood was spent in India, her formative years were in Dubai and her college education was completed in the USA. Her undergraduate degree is in Business Management and Economics and her MBA degree specializes in Technology Management. Students of Kriti Dance have performed at several regional and state levels in the USA. Their passion, enthusiasm and energy can be demonstrated across different genres, whether it is the film festivals, cultural festivals, sports or national events. Kriti Dance Company is performing Arey Pyaar Karle for our show today. Chrysty Lynn, originally from Phoenix, AZ, studied classical dance from various instructors and studios throughout the valley. Her main emphasis was ballet for technique and tap for rhythm; for she felt these two components were important when it comes to her dance career. She studied the RAD Ballet syllabus through Mary Moe Adams and Tap Dance through Bridgette McCarter. Her love for dance and entertainment took her to a professional level performing, producing and choreographing for casino’s including The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno NV as well as producing, styling and choreographing customized shows consisting of cirque variety acts for high end events in Scottsdale AZ, Los Angeles CA, New York NY and Montreal QC. Performing as Pyrrha Sutra Entertainment, Chrysty choreographed Feeling’ Good for our show today. Jenell Maranto is a US Professional ballroom dance champion, nationally renowned teacher, coach and judge and has represented the US throughout Europe and Asia. She has been a featured performer on PBS’s Champion Ballroom Dancing and has appeared alongside Vanessa Williams in the movie Dance With Me. Jenell is the original author of the Dance Vision Smooth Syllabus used throughout the world. Jenell and her partner Jim own and operate the Academy of Ballroom Dance in Phoenix, AZ, celebrating over 30 years. Today Jenell’s Team Academy will perform Sway for our show today. Maryjo (MJ) Mastrangelo began dancing at five; tap, jazz, ballet. At 17, she began teaching dance and a passion for choreography was born. Since moving to Arizona in 2012 to be with the love of her life, Perry, MJ teaches jazz and tap for Dance Fusion and is the Creative Director of Tap Fusion, AZ's premier, all-adult tap dance performance troupe performing Dance Fusion’s 42nd Street for our show today. MJ also choreographed West Side Story performed by her Dance Fusion Jazz Repertoire troupe. Kenda Newbury received her initial classical training from the late Kelly Brown of American Ballet Theater/Phoenix School of Ballet & Jurgen Schneider of ABT. Her instructors include Stanley Holden, Jelko Yuresha (Royal Ballet), Mnsr. Messerrer (Bolshoi Ballet), Gregory Hines & Frank Hatchet. Her performing, teaching & choreographing include Australia, Europe, England and the U.S. She is the Artistic Director of AZDance Group/NEWDance, the creator/ founder of Movement E-Motion (MEM), a dance program for those with different abilities, Albanian Wonders (a dance class for women from Albania), holds an MFA from The Boston Conservatory & is certified in PBT & Safe Sport. As a movement/dance coach, Kenda works with gymnasts, Pom & Cheer teams, synchronized swimmers, equestrians, collegiate & pro ball players & body builders, to name a few. Kenda will be performing Morning Has Broken and assisted in staging La Bayadere, Gamzadi Variation for our show today.
Gabriella Squicciarini has lived in the valley for over 40 years. She, along with her husband, are proud parents of two adult children. Gabriella started dancing when she was in her 20’s. She was part of the Scottsdale Community College Dance Line in her early years of college and then started taking ballet classes at Arizona State University, while enrolled in the business college. She has been dancing in the adult ballet program at Ballet Arizona for over 25 years. In 2012, Ballet Arizona invited to perform an acting roll, as a lady in waiting, in in their production of Swan Lake. Gabriella’s passion for dance continued as she also danced at Arcosante’s Vivaldi’s Festival for Terspicore Company. Gabriella will be performing La Bayadere, Gamzadi Variation for our show today. Kayley Thompson began dancing at 5 years old and trained for 13 years at Royal Dance Works in ballet, tap, jazz, modern/contemporary, hip hop, and musical theater. She performed and competed in Royal Dance Works top performance companies, being part of several national 1st place competition wins. Kayley graduated with an Associates in Arts and Associates in Fine Arts - Dance from Glendale CC in December, 2012. Kayley graduated in 2015 from GCU with a BFA in Dance Education. She currently teaches tap, jazz, contemporary, musical theater, hip hop, ballet, legs and feet, and Twinkle Star classes at Elite Dance Academy; and teaches tap and musical theater jazz for Dance Fusion Youth Academy. Since 2016, Kayley has directed her own professional dance company, Classical Fusion Dance. Kayley has choreographed Incredible, Sleepyhead and New World Coming for our show today. Stephanie Williams began dancing as a young girl and has dabbled in several different styles since. She fell in love with cabaret style belly dance and took classes and performed for 2 years before finding her passion in tribal fusion. She was immediately captivated by the high-energy style of Divine Chaos Fusion Dance Company and the camaraderie of the troupe. Through the guidance of Shannon and Tammy, her passion for tribal fusion grew. She hopes to continue to grow as a member of the troupe and explore more means of expression through movement. Stephanie, along with Kristina Kirschgessner are the assistant directors of Divine Chaos Fusion Dance Company and will be performing Sandstorm for our show today. Taylor Winningham began formal dancing at the age of 19 beginning with ballet, modern, modern jazz, hip hop, and funk. He started his formal training at Wagner’s Dance Studio, studying at Dance Inc. and The Edge Dance Studio in California. Taylor performed in Fantasy Flight and Anything Goes and with Hart to Hart Entertainment including the Super Bowl XXX as well as Footloose with Desert Stages in Scottsdale. In 1999, Taylor started his partner training with Fred Astaire Studios. He competed, taught, and performed shows all over our valley including at MCC, City of Chandler, with SCC and at Fatcat Ballroom. Taylor’s strengths are Cha Cha, Salsa, West Coast Swing, Night Club 2-step, East Coast Swing, Waltz, Foxtrot, and Rumba. Taylor will be performing Let Me Out for our show today. Bruce Goolsby, our Master of Ceremonies today, grew up in the arts and has performed in venues from the performance halls in the U.S. to the concert stage in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Trained under the legendary jazz instructor Frank Hatchett, his performance credits include musical productions such as, Dream Girls, Philly's Beat, The Evening is Yours, and The Swan Ball. He was a featured singer with the R&B group Secrets and has done commercials for radio and television. These days he can be found teaching Tap at local colleges, high schools and dance studios. Carole Kepner has been a pianist and song stylist for over 50 years entertaining thousands with her broad range of songs including Latin, Big Band, Waltz, Country, Show Tunes, Polka, Ragtime, and Boogie Woogie. Her styles encompass the time period of the 1920s – 1960s as well as Broadway Melodies. Carol has been a consultant for Ms. Senior Arizona and won in 2013 in the category of “Ms. Moxie”. Carole has been performing in the Dance Fusion Showcases since originating in 2016.
